I've been buying these Classic Fit jeans for over a decade, always comfortable and well-fitted. The last two pairs were way too long: an inch to two inches too long. They were also baggy. The first pair I sent back and received a new pair which were still too long. I waited a year and ordered another pair hoping they had fixed the manufacturing problems. The labeling showed they were the size I ordered but when I compared them to three other pairs I owned they were much longer, by two inches. I washed them several times in hot water but they were still 2 inches longer than my other three pair. The fit, even after several washings, was much looser than the older pairs.
I give up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by EDMReviewer Leg lenths vary by 1/2 inch either way
I purchased three pairs (each with a different "wash"), all with a 29 inch inseam. One pair was actually 28.5 inches, one was 29 inches as expected, and one was 29.5 inches.

These jeans were requested in my size and arrived in what might be my size, only very, very roomy. The length is cut correctly but the waist is sort of loose and the extra material in the seat and leg makes me feel like I am trying to hide something which I am not. I will wash and dry them to see if that helps, otherwise back they go. What is a "Classic" cut these days? Looks nothing like the model in the picture. Too bad, the material and color are nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kevin Almost indestructible
I have several pairs of Bean jeans, and they're almost indestructible. I prefer the black jeans instead of the blue when the occasion is informal, but calls for a sport jacket (just personal preference). Problem is that my black pair started getting "chalky" streaks after the first wash. They're very well made with quality material and fit well, but they're a bit chalky after washing.

...NOT SURE WHY BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE A COMMON THREAD FOR MANY REVIEWS THAT THE SIZING IS VERY INCONSISTENT...HAVE BEEN WEARING THE SAME SIZE FOR YEARS AND THE PAIR THAT SHOWED UP IN THE MAIL TODAY WERE A GOOD 2-3" LONGER THAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN...EVEN THOUGH THE TAG SHOWED THE CORRECT INSEAM...I AM CHOOSING NOT TO ORDER ANOTHER PAIR ONLINE FEARING A SIMILAR SIZE PROBLEM...TOO BAD

Rated 3 out of 5 by GreatStoneFace Please make a faded black jean, unlined or lined
This is an excellent comfortable jean. I would buy a faded black jean in this style if it was offered. I would buy a faded black lined jean if it was offered. Too bad that you are losing sales in this style and all the other jeans styles for which you don't offer a faded black color.

I work in agriculture in east central Indiana. Yesterday a working machine I was driving heated up and caught some corn chaff on fire in a harvested corn field. It was very windy and in seconds the fire was several acres in size. I had to run out of the field on fire. I was wearing some double L jeans and they definitely don't look like they were worn through fire. My legs are not burned at all. Great jeans.

Fantastic quality for the price. It is painstakingly difficult to find pants or jeans with this high of a rise these days. A high rise just makes one's body more proportionate. Thank you for making these and I hope you don't make changes to it. To those complaining about bagginess...you might not be wearing it at your natural waist .This fits straight with a certain trimness unlike the ungodly amount of slim/skinny jeans with horrendous low rise that major retailers are selling these days. Bravo L.L Bean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by avidfisherman Double L Jeans, Classic -MISS-Fit
I've been wearing Double L Jeans for over 20 years. Not any more.
For the past year I have been unable to get the correct size and fit for the jeans ordered. After many returns they are still running 2" to 3" larger in the waist and the "Classic" fit is in reality the Relaxed" fit. They are very loose/baggy through the hips and thighs.
How is it that I keep getting the same miss marked size and fit jeans time after time? Better question is... Why do I keep trying? Management needs to take a serious look the manufacturers quality control, because the issue is not going away: Only this frustrated customer.
