I purchased this shirt in teal in May, and I have just worn and washed it for the first time. After washing it in cold water and drying it on a rack rather than in the dryer, it shrunk by 2" in length but stretched in width. I did not purchase this shirt with the intent that I'd wear it once and then throw it out! I've been a loyal LLBean customer for 30 years and an LLBean VISA customer for about 20 years, but I think I am done with buying clothing from the company. So many of the items I have purchased over the last few years have been of inferior quality and end up being my go-to attire for yard-work after just a few washings. Don't buy this shirt unless you'd like it shrink in length and stretch in width. What a disappointment

Unlike many of the people who have reviewed these shirts, I have absolutely no problems with any I have purchased either through the years or recently. They are wonderful in every style! Fit in M is great for my somewhat smaller frame, no shrinkage, colors are amazing (I think I have nearly every color in crew neck long and short sleeve, v-neck long and short sleeve), fabric is soft and comfortable even after many washings. Absolutely no complaints with the shirts; they rock! Just wish LL Bean would bring back two wonderful colors: true blue and sun. Can't tell you how many compliments I get when I wear shirts in these colors. Thanks LLB for such a great product!

I ordered these tee shirts because my favorite unshrinkable carefree tee was no longer available. The material is a bit thin, it's clingy, and does shrink after washing. A true disappointment. I've found I pass over them in the closet for an older faded tee, so they'll end up in the charity bag. Please bring back the carefree tee, it's worth the extra money to have a shirt you like wearing.

I love this year's version of this tee. The material has some body and is very slightly fitted. Previous versions were too boxy. I love the length...so many tees have an unflattering longer length and these fall right at my hip. Very attractive for my body type (5'5", 138, athletic build). They seem true to size. The medium fits me perfectly. Hangs nicely so as not to accentuate any tummy bulges. I am hanging the shirts to dry in order to prevent shrinkage. The sleeve holes are a good circumference and are not too tight on my wide(r) biceps. I bought one in nearly every color and am quite pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kelliann Would recommend for some but not all
I bought three of these, in medium and small. I normally wear a Saturday Tee which is their most relaxed fit but they have cut way down on Saturday Tee colors (only 2 shades of blue and one of white). So I thought I'd try these instead because of the great colors.. Unfortunately, they cling too much and are too long. So I would not recommend these shirts for anyone who is a Saturday Tee wearer. It almost certainly won't fit a person who is either short, or short-waisted, or who has even a small "belly" or "muffin top." I am 5 ft 2 and weigh 133 pounds (and am on my way down) and have gone from a large to a small in Saturday Tee. I think these Pima shirts are very nice, very soft, come in great colors. But they are not for the Bean customer whose waist is no longer a youthful shape due to mature years, And if you are short or short waisted, the longer (mid-hip instead of high hip) length will cause the shirt to mold to any bulges you may have.

I have buying these pima cotton shirts in all different styles for year and years. The material is not the same, not soft. The fit is binding. I normally take a size M. I tried the M, L, XL and none of them fit nicely and all returned.. LL Bean you seriously need to take a look at the manufacturer and quality.

I like this tee with jeans or shorts for casual wear. The Royal Plum color is stunning. I haven't washed it yet, but the length is fine. I'm 5'6" tall, but my torso isn't long. On me it falls at low hip. In fact I wouldn't mind if it shrunk just a little. The fit is a bit loose, only very slightly fitted. It hides the belly bulges but is not too square in shape. The fabric is nice and soft. However, I do agree with others that the quality and workmanship of llb fabrics are not as good as in the past.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Babbage Not the same fit or silky material
I have purchased dozens of these v-necks but I'm disappointed in this years model. The fit was tight around the bust and arms, but the same size from previous years fit perfectly, in fact I loved them so much I have two still in the bag in my favorite color "true blue"
Please bring the old styling back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by NDmom06 LLBean has GOT to seriously look at their designs!
These cuts are not flattering. Pima shirts were the Best. LLBean keeps recutting restyling & making a great product not great. SO DISAPPOINTED. Just increase the price & give us back the former Great clothing styles.

As someone who has worn these shirts for ten years, I am disappointed to say that I notice a decline in quality in the last couple of years. The shirts are slightly smaller and shorter and they shrink in the dryer. I now hang them to dry which shouldn't be necessary.
I would still recommend them, but with this caveat.
