First of all, the bad news: it does shrink, especially in length. And I have not put it in the dryer at all.
But now, the good news: the neck is cut so that bra straps don't show. The fabric is thick enough that every tiny wrinkle of your pants and/or anything else you might be wearing doesn't show. The shirt is cut to have some shape but not be skintight. Overall, this shirt is exactly what I've been looking for - except that now that I've washed it (once) it's too short and my arms hang out the sleeves.

I received my spring green pima cotton shirt yesterday and just love the color. However, every time I purchase one of these crew neck shirts the neckline seems to get bigger and bigger. I've compared it to some of my older shirts (they last forever) and it is much bigger almost to the boatneck stage. I think someone needs to speak to quality control and have them look into changes in the pattern.

I found that the shirt fit "okay" when I bought it, but when I washed it in cold water and air dried it, the shirt had shrunk at the waist. The arms seemed to remain the same or may have even grown a little. The only reason I still wear it is because I need it for work and wear another shirt over it tucked in.
I say the shirt was "okay" to begin with because it would just stayed tucked in. I am now finding most of LL Beans shirts to be too short and not tuck-in-able. The quality of the shirt was excellent and it seemed to be constructed well. Very disappointing.

Softest, Most Comfortable T-shirt You'll Ever Want. Pima Cotton is the best!!! I want one in every colour. I think they fit true to size. They wash incredibly well. : )

I purchased 3 of these. Lovely fabric, nice fit before washing. Only ever cold-washed and line-dried, but the arms are now about 7/8 to 3/4. I'd hate to see what happens in a dryer. Ideally, a tee should be easy wear, easy care. For what they charge, Bean could pre-shrink the fabric before cutting and assembling the article of clothing. That would be a quality item. This is not.

I am a petite - I ordered a petite medium . this shirt is way too big ... probably because it is a misses size - just shorter. You can almost see through the material. The sleeves are too long - gives a messy look... I returned both shirts I ordered. My recommendation is do not bother with this shirt. Pima Cotton should be avoided. It sounds good but reality is don't waste your time. You do have to pay to return something from LL Bean. Keep that in mind before you order.

I've read a view reviews re this tee being thinner than years past. I have purchased them for many years and I think they are a bit heavier. I think the weight is good. I wouldn't want it any heavier that's for sure. I do recommend not putting them in the dryer. I put them in for just a few min. to get wrinkles out then lay them flat to dry. No problem I am looking for more dark colors. I am not a pastel person..have blacks, brown, several shades of greens., red.don't like the violet.

Love these shirts but they shrink in length. Maybe they should be cut longer to allow for shrinkage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by birdfree Bring back the old tee
I have been buying these tees for years. I wear then all year. Just received a new one" slightly fitted" I prefer the old cut. Slightly fitted is too tight on the arms and body. I am not a large person, wear size 6 pants. Bring back the old fit. It's much more comfortable. PLEASE
I don't put these shirts in the dryer either. I lay them flat to dry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ProfessorJ Disappointed, but mostly with the white shirt
I purchased white and black pima cotton long sleeve Ts. I found them much thinner than ones I had purchased in the past. I returned the white T because I found it almost transluscent--certainly more revealing of my underwear than I wished. The black one is also thin but doesn't seem to reveal as much so I've kept it and like it, but it's not as warm as the older versions. .
