I have several of these t-shirt/cardigan sets. Overall they are good, but actually, I would give these 3 1/2 stars, not four, if that option was available. But....boxy and on the short side, as mentioned by other reviewers. Please have them taper in the sides just a bit. Also some colors are so popular, I wait many weeks into the nice weather to receive them.
Buttons should be sewn on more tightly.
Also, I couldn't find this item today May 17, 2013, as I've always searched under 'Sweaters'. This isn't a shirt, it's part of a sweater set t shirt and cardigan, at least in my opinion. In past visits to your site, the 'sweater' was listed and then the t-shirt was recommended as an additional purchase.
I though for a second you weren't selling the cardigans any more!

i ordered these beautiful shirts. They are wonderfully made and so soft and dreamy..
However being an "apple shape" i tried this on and the length came to the middle of my stomsch and there was my tummy,. Actually it drew the eye right to my miiddle. had this been 1 to 2 inches longer it would be a life time garment for me. Regretfully had to send these back. If they were a little longer i would buy every color they had !!!

So very tired of buying t-shirt-material items which are cheap and see-through, even from ahem name brand manufacturers previously known for high quality. This cardigan is splendid and perfect for wearing in the summer, especially with the matching t-shirt. Very soft and high quality cotton, lovely buttons and beautifully finished. Sizing perhaps not quite right: I ordered a 'small' matching t-shirt and the 'medium' cardigan fit just right over that t-shirt. Have ordered several colours and some with matching t-shirt, which makes for an excellent 'business casual' ensemble. Have washed in cold water and hung to dry, few wrinkles; travel beautifully and suitcase-induced wrinkles mostly fell out after hanging overnight. More colours please! Thank you LL Bean for still making high quality comfortable elegant casual clothing.

I have one of these shirts from many years ago. When the new one arrived the sleeves and body length were about 2 inches longer than my older one. I was expecting to have to hem it so I could wear it. After washing in warm/not hot water and a low temp drying, the shirt shrunk so much that no hemming was needed. It became a little tight in the width after washing. These are very nicely made shirts, but I don't think it should shrink that much. I'm 5'3", 110 lb and the medium was barely big enough after washing. Had it not been so large to start with it wouldn't have fit after washing. The fabric and styling has changed since the last one I purchased. I still like the quality and style and am glad that it fits. They stay looking nice for many years as with other LL Bean products.

This may the single most useful piece of clothing I own. Dressed up it looks like jacket. Dressed down, it is a tee shirt.
But where are the colors? There aren't a lot of them and they run out fast. I have never seen basics like coral, lavender, burgundy etc. Several colors I would like to buy are out, as are several thet I would like to buy a second one of.
This is clearly a popular item -- PLEASE!!

Because I liked the Tees of the same material I decided to buy the button front shirt. I expect to like them as much as the Tees but i haven't worn them yet, so can't comment more on them. I got blue, red and mauve. All beautiful colours.

I cannot express how much I love the pima button down shirts. I have many of them and they are my go-to tops. I love the matching pima tees. Great comfort, breathable, dress up or dress down. I am a plus size and am somewhat disappointed in the color choices for these button downs. Why are these sizes only in limited colors? Why not ALL the colors that are offered to "regular" size women? I love navy and would love to see that offered for us plus size gals. C'mon, LL Bean. Give us some more choices.

This shirt and shell have been a staple in my wardrobe for years. I have them in all colors. I purchased new ones to replace my old ones back in April, 2012 and I have just noticed that most of these shirts now have small pin holes in them. Can't explain it. The ones I have from years ago are still holding up but the newer ones are of very poor quality. I want the old LL Bean clothes back!!

This is a wonderful, lightweight cardigan/shirt. I decided to order after reading all the overwhelmingly positive reviews and I'm not disappointed. It's just what I was looking for--a lightweight cardigan to wear in the spring and summer months. I got the nautical red which is very attractive, not at all orangey as some reds are. Now I'm going to order the yellow. Thanks, L.L. Bean!
