This paddle works as well in hand as my Bending Branches paddles which cost 2 to 3 times more. Just finished a 4 day paddle of the Smith River in Montana and despite lower than desired water levels, the paddle showed very little wear. Will buy again!

We're brand new canoers, and we are delighted with these paddles. Beautiful and old timey.

This paddle is just a Bending Branches Loon paddle with the LL Bean name on it. It still is a great looking paddle, very light and well worth the money. You will not go wrong with this purchase.

Light and easy to use. The clerks in the store were very helpful. Being novice canoe users we didn't realize that the paddles should be adjusted to our height. So happy we shop at LLBean!

I bought West Branch canoe paddle before summer of 2010. I liked it so much I bought another one as a back-up and for the few times my wife like to canoe.

I lost a Bending Branch "Loon" paddle and needed to replace it. Bean's West Branch paddle is exactly like the one I lost, and is a great quality paddle at a reasonable price. It arrived very quickly after I placed the order, and I was glad to be able to take advantage of the free shipping for my order.

This paddle withstood the Allagash Waterway trip with no issues. It's light and fits me well. Due to an unforeseen, non-paddling circumstance, I broke my old one and went on-line that night to replace it.

you can read elsewhere on here my review of the LLBean Pack Canoe (by old town) I bought this paddle with that canoe a few years ago here off this site.
I paddle the pack canoe with a kayak paddle most of the time, but this paddle is always with me too. It's really pretty and very tough.
I got the 60" which is really too long to use all day for my set up (lowered seat) but it's my push pole, back up paddle, tarp/tent set up pole, and great back up paddle. On dead calm foggy mornings, I may creep out of camp and grab this paddle for the traditional 'feel' of silently slipping around with the single blade. With the laminate, the resin tip, it's very strong too. Makes a great pushpole from kneeling/sitting position for shoals.
I've used a bit of linseed oil and it looks brand new again.
