Rated 5 out of 5 by KansasQueen Excellent quality leather collars
We have two dogs. I purchased one for each dog. We have a 65 pound Weimer and a 80 pound lab. The quality is excellent and it does not irritate their necks. They looks much more expensive than the purchase price.

This is a nice leather collar for a really great price (plus I was able to use a gift card towards it making it even better price!). My only complaint is that I wish I could have chosen silver metal instead of the gold. Also I wish that it came in different widths but it looks great on my puppy and she has some room to grow into it.

Catechumen Great collars
I ordered the regular D-Ring collar for my female Black Lab (90 pounds) almost 12 years ago. I also ordered the brass plate engraved with her ID chip number and contact telephone numbers. It survived eight years of hard use and probably would have made it for a number of additional years, but I got another Black Lab about four years ago and so I ordered a new one for my old girl and one for my newly acquired male Black Lab (115 pounds). I have nothing but positive things to say about these collars. The brass plates have stayed firmly attached. I looked at my dogs? collars tonight, after reading some of the reviews, and the engraving is still clear and legible after four years ? as was the case with the first one I bought 12 years ago after 8 years of wear.
I will say, that I tend to remove the collars when I take my Labs to the lake to keep the collars from getting totally soaked, but the collars still get fairly wet when I put them on the dogs after they?re done swimming and, certainly, the dogs have jumped in many times before I could get the collars off. The collars have been through forest and field and have survived innumerable dog wrestling matches. I think these are a great bargain and really appreciate that I can have my dogs? ID chip numbers and the toll free number to call if my dogs are found as well my cell phone number all engraved on the plate ? and people have called me when my dogs have ?escaped? and roamed without me knowing. I find the brass plate engraving invaluable and I have, at times, been tempted to buy a ?sportier? motif cloth/nylon collar for my dogs, but I?ll stick with the classic leather and brass plate because there?s no way I could get all the information I have on the brass plate embroidered on a fabric collar and it?s important to me that those ID numbers and phone numbers be readily available an visible. As long as Bean is selling these, I will be buying them for my Labs. Unfortunately for Bean, as stated earlier, the current collars are four years old and in no need of replacement; they?re in fine shape.

I purchased this collar for my 35lb English Cocker Spaniel in size 17in in the classic D-Ring. The engraving looks great, the collar looks nice, and we haven't had any issues. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Such a great price for a quality, nice looking collar!

I was very excited to order this collar for my 50 lb Shepperd mix but was disappointed when it arrived. It was a beautiful collar (with a name plate) but the second I fastened it on my dog the plate popped off. He has a thin neck and the plate is about three/four inches wide, so when fastened it immediately fell off. It should have been fasted on better. We tried to reattach the plate, but the screws fell out when we let Rocky outside. Now the collar has two awkward holes and no nameplate. I got a refund ($8) for the nameplate, but have decided to return the collar altogether. I will admit apart from these issues I love the collar. It is a very good quality leather and it fits my dog perfectly. He was between sizes so I ordered a size up as suggested. If you have a medium to small dog like mine I would not recommend the nameplate.

This collar is made of very sturdy, but supple leather and looks great. The tag is well made and attached firmly to the collar. It is a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Duffle LOVE LOVE LOVE this Collar!
I've had this collar for almost a year now and I've been very pleased. My 2 year old lab is constantly swimming in the ocean or playing with other dogs whom find grabbing him by his collar to be fun and games. I do agree with other posts- the engraving is not as deep as I would like, nor is the font large. I have his name and 2 phone numbers engraved on it. HOWEVER, I would engrave it again. I've been called twice in the past year when my little man *escaped* in the neighborhood. I have only cleaned the collar one time with leather cleaner, but do take off dog and allow to air dry after swimming. Love the natural patina collar is now showing and receive many compliments on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by gabdesiree nice collar, DON'T get engraved!!
Collars are fine, I bought 2, one for each dog. They have gotten wet, put on and off many times. The only major issue is the engraving!! TINY unreadable letters that have almost completely faded. NOT worth the extra money. I purchased these within the last 3-4 months and now need something different to put on them. BAH!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ribeye Fell apart in under a year
At first it was great. Looked great. My dog is an 80lbs short-haired boxer-german shepherd mix and the un-lined inside of the collar started to chafe his fur under his chin. That ended the use as a real collar and it became an ID collar only (less than a month after receiving it.) It's been great for that but a month ago I noticed the two rivets that hold the strap wrapped around the buckle were getting loose. Well yesterday it came apart. Both rivets came free of the strap. The D-loop and attached dog license fell to the ground and the collar fell off. Luckily it was only his ID collar and I found his license. This is in less than a year on a collar that doesn't have any strain on it and rarely gets wet (he hates water/misters/sprinklers -- so only when we get caught in the rain in Southern California.)
