This is one tough bag ,carries plenty and packs great. Love having the rolling wheels . This is my second one, my wife was always using it so I got a second for her.

Will not stand upright. The soft duffel bag top exposes contents to
Breakage. No provision for a lock on the "drop bottom.

This is a tried and true large rolling bag which has (and this is why I love it the most) a hard-sided drop bottom which allows me to carry all kinds of things that would normally get crushed in transit (cookies, bread, wrapped glass items, etc.) I had one for over 10 years and finally just got a new one. Expensive, but worth it.

This is my second time purchasing the Extra-Large Rolling Duffle Bag from LL Bean. I purchased one for my son for an 8 week College Internship last summer in London, and now my other son needed a similar bag for a college workshop and he is pleased with the bag. They both liked that rolling wheels and extra-space at the bottom for their dress-suit along with ample room for socks, t-shirts, jeans etc. on on the top and sides. The bag also meets the requirements for Width, Length and Depth for US and International travel which can be frustrating if you don't check it out before your trip. Good Purchase for a lifetime!

Awesome duffel. Very convenient to use and transport. Very rugged made with heavy duty zippers. "D" shaped opening for easy access of everything packed. Separate zipped bottom for separating contents. This is a great feature. Luggage ID tag built in so it won't get ripped off. The wheels and handle are very well made and sturdy. By far the best duffle I have ever seen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JBSH Very disappointing
For the cost of this bag I expected a high quality , durable product.
The zipper did not work properly. The material of the bag was thin.
there was no proper lining or pockets inside. The handle mechanism and wheels were not high quality.
This was the what you would expect from a $50-$75 bag.

Bought this bag for an European trip. Wheeled the bag through the subways, trains, buses, cabs and blocks and blocks of coble stone sidewalks. The wheels and base of the case took it well. No damage.
The case will only stand up on end well if packed with the weight at that end of the bag. Only two improvements needed: it is in need of a shoulder strap, the extendable handle needs to have multiple stoppable lengths. As is the extendable handle is too long for busy terminals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bigtimellbeanfan1 Great Bag, even better service
We've had his and hers in this item for 5+ years. The bags have enjoyed A LOT of trips, seen dozens of countries and survived countless airline baggage handlers...... Until recently, when one of the roller wheels broke.
One call to LLB Customer service later and a replacement bag was on it's way, with simple instructions for return of the original bag. No hassles, just great customer service.

Rated 3 out of 5 by unclev design is good
We like the design of the luggage and have only traveled with it once. Not sure if it will repel water and you cannot put it upright without it falling. The little feet on the luggage are not designed to hold it up.
We have luggage from LLBean that are designed for ski boots and reqular gear and have had them for approximately 8-10 years and they still holding up well. The exterior material seems much sturdier than this one but only time will tell.

by LRoss Well designed, poorly built
I have to join the chorus of reviewers who found that this bag is poorly constructed. I bought it for a week-long trip, and put approximately 35 pounds of stuff in it. It survived one coast-to-coast flight, but during the baggage handling for the flight home the fabric started to separate from the frame (the airline used a staple gun to reattach it). I really like the size and design of the bag, so I'll return this one and try another, but I'm not holding out much hope for the quality of the next one.
