I have a pair of bifocal sunglasses purchased from LLB but am having trouble tying on size 20 flies. Purchased these to wear with my sunglasses for extra power and can't focus properly. Called the supplier and he said he had never heard this problem and maybe it's my eyes and he would replace the item. Rather than inconvenience him or LLB with a return exchange etc just decide to return them

This is the second magnifier we have purchased - last one was lost. It is great, especially for older eyes. It stays clipped to your hat and really make fishing much easier and less frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Trian A big help for older eyes
It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you learn to work at the right focal length, this device is a big help. I wear progressive lenses, but I can still use this product.
The magnification is perfect, and I use it for many purposes besides fishing. I keep the Flip Focal attached to a hat in my shop, and when I need to work on something small, I can get instant magnification while keeping both hands free.
The pin is useful to prevent loss.

I have owned 3 or 4 of these over the years. I think it is real handy as we become eye challenged. Saves me from potentially losing my glasses in the river. Very easy to find the eyelet on small flies. It flips out of the way and does not bug you when you are fishing. Now if I could stop losing them or the hat they are attached to I would be all set.

Excellent for tying fly line.
Also very good for removing splinters, ticks, and any other chore requiring magnification.

I use a lot of small flies while fishing here in Maine (hook sizes 18 & smaller). I have been struggling for years trying to see the hook eyes while tying on these smaller flies. Fluorocarbon tippets are especially challenging. I'm near sighted so I would remove my glasses and bring the fly up close in order to see. I was always worried about dropping my glasses in the pond. After purchasing this product I find I can easily see the hook eyes and tippet now without having to remove my glasses to do so. I should have purchased one a long time ago but put it off thinking it might not work well with my glasses. It works fine. The tack that locks it in place on your hat is a nice feature. Now if they could only come up with a product that would keep my hands from shaking while I'm trying to get the tippet through the eye of the hook I'd be all set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by woolyworm Flip Focal - excellent
this is a great product - easy to use, fold mostly out of the way. Low light, fine tippet - no problem. without the flip focal I am taking a stab half the time I tie on a fly or change tippets. Only negative - takes a little getting used to have them tucked under cap bill - in field of vision and a little distracting ... you get used to it though.

Easy to use. Clip it to your hat and flip it down when needed. I wear glasses and that's not a problem. Just move your hands till you get a clear sharp view.
