Rated 5 out of 5áby CarolinaG My husband looks forward to the rain...
I got these 8in Bean Boots for my husband in a size 8 in the Tan/Brown. He has wide feet and is usually a size 8.5, but I got him the Medium D and they fit perfect. The only thing I have to say is that he's looking forward to the rain and snow this winter! He loves how comfortable these boots are and how stylish they look. I plan on getting them for him in other colors because they were a total hit :) Only thing is I'll probably get him the insulated ones next time because he says they're not particularly warm.

Rated 4 out of 5áby ScottyRed Wide boot is not very wide
I know customer reviews can be frustrating because they sometimes contradict each other. I will provide the facts:
I normally wear an 11.5 wide size athletic shoe. I wear a 2E or 4E width (specifically the Mizuno Waver Rider and Asic GT series shoe).
I followed the advice on the website and went a half size down, and then another full size down because I would be wearing a mid weight sock. I also ordered the wide width. So I ended up ordering size 10, wide 2E.
The length of the boot is perfect; however, the shoe is not very wide (and I ordered the wide size). It fits more like a standard width shoe. I checked the stamp on the boot because I thought maybe they shipped me the wrong size; however, the stamp reads 10 W.
I am hoping that the boot will break in an open up a bit, but as anyone with wide feet knows, it is not a very comfortable process. Ideally, the boot would already be wide enough to start.
I am reluctant to exchange for a large size because I think anything larger would be too long.
I'll give it another week to see if the fit improves; if not, I will be returning the boots.

Rated 5 out of 5áby RGrouse Very Pleasantly Surprised
My wife and I have been shopping at LL Bean for 36 years. My closet is full of Double L Chinos and LL Bean shirts. Over the years I've bought everything from socks to a kayak trailer, but had never bought a pair of LL Bean Boots until this Fall.In the past I had looked at them and thought that the rubber bottoms would be uncomfortable and too hot on the feet. This fall I tried on the 6 inch model in your Freeport Store and bought the blue special edition ones. They were to replace a pair of another brand name gardening boots that didn't last through one season before the sole separated causing them to leak.
Your boots are surprisingly VERY comfortable, made possible I believe by having an excellent insole and lining fabric. They even have a nice cushioning effect at heel strike when walking on pavement. They are now my "go to" gardening and foul weather footwear. My only regret is that I didn't buy a pair 36 years sooner.
PS: You also sell the best upland game vests and jackets available.

Rated 5 out of 5áby TLJArlington Great boots - a bit big
These keep my son's feet warm all over his college campus during Ohio's cold, wet, snowy winters. They run a little big - he normally wears a 12, but these boots fit him (even with thick socks) in an 11. I'd size down one when ordering.

Rated 5 out of 5áby WW1968 These boots run REALLY big - pay attention!!!
Pay attention to sizing chart and order smaller than your shoe size. I wrote a review giving them 4 stars because my boots were too big. Well I just chatted with customer service and they're shipping me out a smaller size free of charge and a label to return the big ones. Best customer service on the planet.

Rated 4 out of 5áby WW1968 Surprisingly too big
I wear a 10.5 - 11 shoe. Depends on the brand, fit, style, etc. I finally decided to purchase some Bean boots for Spring/Fall wet weather. I went to the flagship store and bought the blue ones. I was told they only come in whole sizes. The 10s were too small and the 11s were too big. I was told that with the furry insoles and thick socks they'd fit perfectly. Not the case. They're too big through and through. I'm surprised they didn't come in half sizes as I just bought the amazing Storm Chaser boots in a 10.5. When it comes to waterproof, these can't be beat. I'm still figuring out a way to put something in the toe to make them fit, as I really do love the boots.

Rated 5 out of 5áby LLBeanBamaMan All I wanted was for my comfy boots to be resoled
and lo and behold, called a customer service agent to pay for the soles to be replaced. I even had my credit card ready to pay for this maintenance. OK, well imagine my surprise when "Boom" I was offered a brand new pair for free. Yup, this kind agent said that "she would love to send me a BRAND new pair for free." Let's see ... I have had these boots for about 4 years? And for free? I have used them to hunt in, to fish in ... even to work in around the house during muddy days. Well, ladies and gentlemen, in this day and age of skimping and/or shortcuts - this company is an prime example of genuine true fine quality. Take notice haters - this is not a gimmick. This company is the real deal and to that end, will ALWAYS be a buyer from them. Period. The end.

Rated 5 out of 5áby WeGonDoDis Great quality, even better customer service
So today, my boots finally arrived after waiting for backorder to fill.
These are simply great. I had called customer service and asked to return because I changed my mind in the middle of the process and wanted insulated boots. Because the order was being filled (though not yet shipped), CS couldn't stop the shipment. So, they offered to pay for return shipping from Canada.
Shipping was very fast. It left LL Bean and came all the way to Toronto in 2 days. Can't believe this type of shipping is free.
Thank you, LL Bean, but I won't be returning these babies. I change my mind for the last time on this matter. These boots are great. A tad bit long, I wear size 9 for Allen Edmonds so I got size 8, but I think if this were size 7.5 (which doesn't exist) it might've been a perfect (though at risk of being too tight) fit.
On my everyday dress socks (thin to medium thickness), there is about a pinky finger's girth worth of room in there. With heavyweight wool socks, about half of that much room. All in all, comfy enough fit. Looks great, of course. Quality is great as well. Supple leather, grippy rubber.
Never mind my request for refund. These are perfect. Highly recommended. Since quality and customer service have been both top notch, LL Bean has made a customer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5áby JLinPDX I don't want to take them off!
Living in Portland, Oregon means wet and cool winters. In the '90s, I lived in Brooklyn, then later Cape Cod and Nantucket Island, and saw so many friends there wearing the L.L. Bean boot. I was jealous. Fast forward to last week, I finally decided to order a pair. I followed the sizing instructions, and the fit is perfect as described. That's why I selected "somewhat large" and "somewhat wide" on the fitting scale. They are a bit bigger than a "true to size" boot would be. The craft-person-ship and quality are like none I've seen before. Once these are broken in a bit, they will be permanently attached to my foot. :)
Also, the buying experience with L.L. Bean is superior in every way. The communication is personalized and consistent. They even sent a thank you card with the signature of the person who made my pair of boots!
Thanks, L.L. Bean!

I'll start by saying that I love these boots and have been a fan for many years. I own 2 pair of 8 inch boots over years as well as 2 Mocs. I think the uninsulated versions would be so much better if the seam between leather and rubber was waterproof. With leather treatment this would give a completely waterproof and perfect boot. I don't like insulation as I wear them in summer months too so gorges not an option for me. I wear these boots daily but get really irritated to walk through creek or puddle and have wet feet because water went over the rubber bottom.
