Rated 5 out of 5 by JLinPDX I don't want to take them off!
Living in Portland, Oregon means wet and cool winters. In the '90s, I lived in Brooklyn, then later Cape Cod and Nantucket Island, and saw so many friends there wearing the L.L. Bean boot. I was jealous. Fast forward to last week, I finally decided to order a pair. I followed the sizing instructions, and the fit is perfect as described. That's why I selected "somewhat large" and "somewhat wide" on the fitting scale. They are a bit bigger than a "true to size" boot would be. The craft-person-ship and quality are like none I've seen before. Once these are broken in a bit, they will be permanently attached to my foot. :)
Also, the buying experience with L.L. Bean is superior in every way. The communication is personalized and consistent. They even sent a thank you card with the signature of the person who made my pair of boots!
Thanks, L.L. Bean!

I'll start by saying that I love these boots and have been a fan for many years. I own 2 pair of 8 inch boots over years as well as 2 Mocs. I think the uninsulated versions would be so much better if the seam between leather and rubber was waterproof. With leather treatment this would give a completely waterproof and perfect boot. I don't like insulation as I wear them in summer months too so gorges not an option for me. I wear these boots daily but get really irritated to walk through creek or puddle and have wet feet because water went over the rubber bottom.

Love the boots so far but my review will hopefully help another with the dilemma of a half size. I wear 9.5 shoes and tried the size 8 Bean boot, didn't work for me. I bought the size 9 and felt like they were still a bit large and definitely would work with a thick sock. I went back to the store and tried a size 9 with Goretex/ Thinsulate lining, perfect fit. I would recommend for anyone with a half size only go down to the next closest full size and get a lined boot for the additional padding. Enjoy your new boots!

Great American made boots that can be worn in the snow and keep your feet dry, while hunting and keep your feet warm, and are also preppy, so they can literally be worn with anything. They maybe pricey if you're on a budget, but they last years and years, and are something to be passed down through generations.

I purchased these boots for my husband and followed the advice of many of the other reviewers and sized way down. He usually wears a 10 and based on the other reviews many suggested to size down by 2, so I ordered the 8. My husband was so disappointed when they didn't fit. I exchanged for the 10 and they fit perfectly. We both have these blue boots and are extremely happy with the quality and durability of these boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ADKdude Durable and comfortable, I'll have these for years
I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I just had to for my new L.L. Bean boots. The quality of the materials used to make these is excellent! Although the leather isn't advertised as waterproof, it has kept my feet dry in heavy downpours. For a 102-year-old boot design, these are quite comfortable and the support in them actually exists.
I know these boots will be a favorite for years to come.

by longtimebootbuyer I really like these boots BUT>>>
I like the classic Bean boot but within 6 months they start to come apart at the seam. This has happened every time I order a pair. I don't know why this can't be dealt with at the manufacturer level. I have sent back for exchange or repair many boots and I am about to send back the pair I bought Just this year, already the leather top has separated at the seam from the rubber bottom, frustrating to say the least. But I do like the style and fit of the boot and until they come apart they are a good boot.

I've said it a thousand times! LL Bean is the best! You simply can't beat their products, pricing and guarantees! I am never not amazed at how generous and accommodating they are when the slightest thing goes wrong. I own seven or eight pairs of bean boots in different heights, and I wear them for every imaginable occasion! Fly fishing upland hunting, to my office and yes, and I'm not joking here, to Church!...I have had only the odd little issue with the odd pair over 20 some years, a crack in the sole or some minor thing that was more than likely my own fault or really what I'd call honest wear and tear but LL Bean has fixed my boots even given me brand new ones!! When I would have been more than happy to have my old faithfuls repaired!!....Bean is the best!! You can not say anything to the contrary, their customer service is second to none! and their products are Excellent! I have nothing but love for Bean! I live in their gear!! So ya can't be more pleased than that! Great Job folks! A+
