Rated 3 out of 5 by HDNH sizing off
These are soft and warm but the sizing is off. I ordered a small (no XC offered) and they fit like sweatpants, not long underwear. Very baggy and I cannot wear them under pants that fit normally. I am a size 2-4.

I will be taking these items to Germany in Feb. I feel quite confident
that I will stay warm , since it will be very cold there . And I will be
in Germany for a month .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Berrylium Light Substantial Long Underwear in Color
I like the style, fit, resiliency, and warm (yet light) feeling of this Long Underwear. The delicious color makes a nice concession for having to haul these on of a chill Midwestern prairie morn. In addition, the fit worked. I ordered a Medium, which fit perfectly on a 5'9-1/2", 149 pound woman such as I am. They did not bag or hang anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MollyandMe Warm & comfy
I'm about 5'7" and 125 and I ordered these in small (blue) along with the matching top (see my review). Pretty much the same info. They're roomy and they stretch a bit; when washed they "tighten" up again but stretch back out. I don't know how they'll fare in the long run but so far no problems. They keep me warm under my regular clothes in 20's and 30's temps. No problems with the wool scratching through the cotton lining but as some reviewers said, the wool isn't as soft as one might like, but still it's not against your skin. Overall very happy and would order again. I think would make great PJ's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by redpurse BEST EVER PURCHASE
Last year, I was cold every late night and early in the morning. I was actually in pain. I have been wearing these long johns for a while now and I will tell you the truth. They are one of the best purchases in clothing I have ever made. They run big, but I like them that way for sleeping.

5'-2", 140 lbs, hourglass shape, Pac NW. Wore Duo-Fold long underwear for skiing years ago. Needed long underwear for gardening in December, etc & finally found these! Tried medium pants - too big & long in legs; ordered small - fits beautifully. Other reviewers noted the baggy front - true for me, too. Would like to move a bit to the back for stooping, but altogether these fit well enough for 5 stars. Very warm in wind under light cotton pants! Ordered large crewneck shirt, too. This is also very warm in wind under a T-neck, sweatshirt, & Gore Tex parka. They also make great pajamas! Ordered a second pants & crewneck. Blue heather is like the sky on a hazy day. And - Yippie! Made in Canada!!

Unbearably scratchy ! Hips, tummy, and butt area is HUGE. I ordered M because I wear size 10, but there was so much fabric bunched under my pants I couldn't fasten them. Would never recommend these to anyone!!!! So what if they are made in America? Is this all the better we can do?

Rated 3 out of 5 by heartnsoul Scratchy wool
I ordered these hoping that they would not be typical scratchy wool, but they most certainly are. I could not bear to have them on for even a minute, my sensitive skin could not tolerate it, the wool scratchiness went right through the cotton layer. Really too bad because they are very nicely constructed, fit well, and were definitely VERY warm and hefty. I certainly wish that LLBean would carry a 100% cotton version of long underwear for those of us who cannot tolerate synthetics or wool. Silk just does not hold up for heavy wear, nor is it as warm.

I'm 5'9" and 140lb's - I ordered a large - if I'm lucky, they might fit the child next door. This is the first item I've ordered from L.L. Bean that disappointed me so much, I'm making the effort to warn you

Rated 5 out of 5 by zippolady Great item!
This is not the first time I have bought this item, and I needed a new pair. They won't win a beauty contest, but they sure are comfortable and warm.. Now I can look forward to winter.
