Rated 2 out of 5 by BeanOldLady For a large size, these "shorts" are too long
My husband wears size 46 trousers so we were pleased to see that these shorts were available in that size. We ordered other size 46 shorts from LL Bean and they fit will and looked fine. But these "shorts" were more like mid-length baggies worn by teenagers, so we had to return them.
Probably they are more acceptable in smaller sizes.

These are by far the best shorts available. I have one of every color and wear mine every day from mid April through mid October and I'm just replacing colors that I bought four to five years ago.
LLBean... Please don't try to improve these, as you can't, and I'll be buying these for the rest of my life.

I bought 2 pairs of these shorts for my husband for Christmas. One pair fit perfectly and the other pair he couldn't even button. Obviously one was mis-sized but which one? He really liked the pair that fit so I am not sure whether to order another pair in the correct size or to size up. Very frustrating. Fortunately this is not the norm for LL Bean

What can one say? Well made, well tailored and perhaps the most comfortable shorts that look nice. I wear these to the office in the summer with a button down shirt. Great for pleasure or dressing up a bit for a night out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ilikeshorts Good but one issue
I like these a lot, but I ordered "plain front" because I wanted a plain, flat front.
If you look closely at the product images, you can see that although they are technically "plain front", they come with a crease ironed into them.
This crease is permanent; no amount of washing or ironing will remove it.
A small issue, no doubt, but I do wish they were truly plain and flat.
Other than that I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JtATL They do the job
I bought a pair about 3 years ago and have worn them regularly (1-2 times per week, 8 months of the year). They are still in good condition, just a bit worn in the pocket openings and some of the external stitching (still hold up much better than the tropic-weight shorts). Basically, they hold up well and still look good over time and can be worn with anything. Essentially a no-nonsense pair of simple khaki shorts.

You can't go wrong with these shorts. They are as practical as they are comfortable. They work well with polos, t-shirts, and oxfords. Will last seasons!

Not made the same as the older shorts. Different fit. Liked the old ones that were made three years ago much better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jfran Double L Chino Shorts, Plain Front 6" Inseam
Cons: The one piece waist band allows no room for even minor alterations. Customer must be exact size as pre-sized waist band for a perfect fit.
