They are great to use on snow and ice. I still have to be careful walking on ice though. It is still better than having nothing on. I have two different types of boots. They fit better on the australian snow boots then they did on the storm boots. The only other fault is they have to adjust them at least once depending on the length of the walk if the walk is more than 10 minutes. i would still recommend them because they do help.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Mediadance Best Grippers Around
I've worn my way through all kinds of rubberized grippers (the kind that stretch over your boot). This is a serious product for people like me who hike in the woods daily. I walk over pavement, snow, ice, felled trees, etc... These are so much easier to put on (than the stretchy kind). I only wish they had clip-straps rather than velcro straps. Velcro wears out with daily use.

No more struggle to put on! The straps with velcro are perfect! I actually put them on my snow boots and leave them there - I can still slip my boots on and off. And they really, really work. I've walked on sheer ice with no problem whatsoever. These truly are everything I could wish for. I got a pair for my husband, also, and he is very happy with them.

Rated 5 out of 5áby PookaRoo What Fun! and Practical
I have never had anything like these before, so I cannot compare to others. But, these are wonderful! I wore them over my UGG boots. We got 8-10 inches of snow right after I received these. I walked around the neighborhood, paved, sloping streets. Decent hill in one area. And around my yard, good-sized, strong slope in back. Fantastic traction! And the Stabilicers were SNUG on my boots, NO SLIPPING between boot and Stabilicer.
They are easy enough to put on and take off so I know they will not be a problem if I choose to use them on errand runs.

I bought these for my 60 year old husband after he slipped while snowblowing our driveway. He said they work great, and are easy to put on. Best of all, I have peace of mind. Seems like a no-brainer to me!

I purchased the Stabilizers for my husband. He delivers home heating oil and this winter has been the most brutal we can ever remember on Eastern Long Island. The Stabilizers have helped him cross all the icy roads, driveways and yards safely with great traction. He works very long hours and the first thing he says when he walks in the door is "These things work great!". Thank you again for helping him get through this busy season without slipping!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Hikewithdogs Walking on Ice and Hiking with Dogs
I highly recommend these Stabilicers because they provide excellent traction on ice or on ice packed snow. If deeper snow, I use snowshoes with built in cleats. In addition, I have climbed up and down piles of snow and walked across meadows with ice packed snow without slipping or falling.
Concerning hiking with my dog, we hike with 15 foot (non-retractable) lead. I attach the lead to a Hagihana Harness that has a rear/top"D" ring. This harness is specifically designed to avoid any pressure on her neck. Therefore, the Stabilicers provide me with excellent traction and stability while the harness protects my dog from any sudden and unexpected tension on her neck. Therefore, our hikes are loose lead. I have so far followed her up and down hilly paths through the woods successfully without falling down.
Another important feature is that Stabilicers attach to my ankle high boot via a rubber sole with attachment straps. I have attached them to my 9 inch high boots, too.
However, I avoid applying them to hiking shoes because I had to wrap the strap around my ankle and I am uncomfortable with that arrangement. If you have hiking shoes, I would look at the other LL Bean products that pull over the shoe.
Still, these Stabilicers are most durable and effective ice cleats that I have ever worn. The cleats are actually bolts and I have worn them on streets that have both ice patches and bare pavement while maintaining my balance. About Crampons, I wear them in the higher altitudes with ice conditions.
Finally, the Stabilicers are very durable; I use them with confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Canopus A Must Have For Safety!!!
I'm 70 years young & do a lot of ice fishing, snow blowing etc. If you play or work in these harsh New England elements you have to have a pair of these. Through the years, I have owned many other types of ice grips for boots & these are by far the best. They are easy to put on & off & securely grip the ice. It is without reservation that I recommend them. They cost more than other types, but definitely worth the price. It sure beats a broken hip. Plus, they are made in the USA, which to me, is a definite plus!

Rated 5 out of 5 So far, I like them.
I bought these to replace my YAKTRAX which had broken and also had proven not good on ice.
I wear these over my Bean Pac Boots for when I'm clearing snow on my sloped/icy driveway. I've found these to be much better than YakTraX in all respects.
I ordered LARGE and they fit OK on my size 11 boots.
One minor complaint, the heel straps could be 1"-2" longer.
