These are really nice leashes - we have purchased 3. Unfortunately, one of our dogs is a chewer, and can quite literally gnaw through this (and any other leash) in less then 5 seconds. Do not use if you have a puppy or a dog with any chewing tendencies.

This lead is well made and good-looking. It feels soft yet strong and doesn't cut into your dog's neck. It's easy to put on and to give directions with a gentle jerk. I like the color choices. I'd like to see a smaller version of it in diameter with shorter length for smaller dogs.

This leash is wonderful to grab when the dog is ready to make a quick trip outside. He doesn't always wear a collar inside the house so this saves a step of having to put a collar on. He would love to chew it so one thing is not to let him have a chance to chew on it.

I live in Florida and walk my dog at the beach every morning. I have thrown out a multitude of leashes with metal hooks because the salt water locks them closed. One leash lasted only 3 days.
The British slip lead is a comfortable slip over my dog's neck, as he goes in and out of the Gulf to swim. An added advantage is that, when not on the lead, he can go collarless, as a standard leash needs to hook onto the collar. It must be more comfortable for him, plus it eliminates the collar line on his fur. It is also easier and more effective to brush him without a collar.

Great lead to have by the door and in the car. (Thinking of ordering another.) The large rounded rope is comfortable in my hand. Slips on easy. Doesn't knot up when my over zealous dane/lab mix is leaping about! It tightens and releases simply and quickly enough and allows for simple corrective tugs.

This is a great lead for anybody to use on their dog. My lab responded to the right amount of pressure that the British lead give when correction is needed. Not like a hard choke chain where it could hurt the dogs neck if you don't know how to use them.

This lead is perfect for us. Bailey is a large dog and this lead holds her well. She is not a chewer on the lead, but there would be problems if yours is. It could easily be severed by dog teeth. We enjoy walks and this slip lead keeps her at my side and tightens if she tries to run after wildlife.

I received the slip lead in the mail and put it on my dog to go for a walk. My wife needed to ask me a question so I let go of the lead. In the five minutes it took to have the conversation with my wife, my dog chewed through this leash. While nothing is completely dog proof this did not even pose a challenge to my dog. Thankfully, LL Bean has a top notch return policy.

I really like whis leash. It's a great quality and a good price.
I like to let my dog go collarless, so when it's time to go for a walk, we just slip this on & off we go!
No more hunting down the collar first!
