I bought this bell to put on my dog's collar for hunting season so that she wouldn't be mistaken for a deer. I have heard Swiss cow bells in Switzerland and I never heard one with such a dull sound. I am returning the bell.

I purchased for my 2 St Bernard mixed dogs, mainly for hiking in the mountains. The bells are attractve and made in Switzerland. The tone of the bell is nice. However, if yor dog has a collar with a d ring or buckle clips , the bell will not fit. I purchased a small , thin carabiner to attach to their collars. The bell was probably made for leather collars like the cows wear in Switzerland. I love them.

He is a Bernese Mountain dog. The bell is the right size for him and has a nice ring. We bought it on sale $6 so I felt that the value was good. Huxley does not seem to like having a ringing sound all the time so we just put it on him occasionally. I am happy with the purchase and service from LLBean. (I've been shopping here for 30 years and its been consistently reliable. pretty amazing)

the bell is attractive and sounds nice. difficult to find a collar that you can put it on. we had to jerry rig it with an s-hook.
serves it purpose for us, we can hear where the dog is even when we can't see him :-)

I use this bell exclusively as the tone (pitch) is in the lower range. This lower tone is easier for my older ears to hear than the ones with a higher pitch. It also has good volume. I would have given it 5 stars, but the clapper fell out of my last one during it's second season.

The swiss Dog bell is big and loud. The picture on the website doesn't show how big it really is. It's about 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches deep. It doesn't just slip onto a collar unless the collar webbing can come completely undone and lay flat. We connected ours with a key-ring type split ring.
It is loud. Which is why we bought it, as our 10 mo. old lab puppy likes to wander. We can hear him go and stop him before he gets far. We do remove the collar now if he's playing in the house or feels itchy.
Our dog gets in the water every chance he gets. After 2 weeks the bell is showing some sign of rust.
Overall, it's doing what we wanted it to. I just wish it were smaller and easier to put on the collar.

I purchased two bells, however, they are way too large for my chow chow-lab mix dogs which are 80#. I might as well get them cow bells. Not returning them because of the cost.

I have a bernese mountain dog, so this is a perfect fit. This does slide over her regular collar, but I would use another hook for easy on and off. I switch it up with the sportmen's collar/bell. She doesn't mind the bells at all, and I can hear her even when she isn't in sight.

A fabulous item for your dog. We tie it to our door that the dog uses to go potty and we have trained him and now her (our newest addition) to ring the bell to go outside. Small enough to take with you and ring sound is very pleasant. Works perfectly.
