Nice sound, good construction, dog took to it in one minute, now can hear him (English Setter) even 150 feet away in the woods; our second dog (Springer Spaniel) doesn't range, doesn't need the bell and isn't bothered by his partner's ringing!

We have a deaf Great Dane, who loves to run through the fields around the house. Since he can't hear us call him, we have to know where he is at all times. This bell lets us know exactly where he is. He brings the bell collar to us when he's ready to go out!

I purchased this collar with the bell for my Jack Russell mix so other critters would be warned and hear him coming. So far it is working. The collar is up to LL Bean's standard and so is the bell with a very nice sound.
I would order it again if necessary.
Oh, and his newest nicknames are "Bell Boy" and "Paul Revere".

Helps me keep track of my new puppy. Has pleasant sound. Wish sound could be heard from a further distance (300 - 500 ft.? - Could be my "old" ears) . A ring to attach a lead and I.D. tag would be helpful

I bought this for our 1 yr old dog who has a tendency to roam (ie escape) when off leash. When this bell first arrived, I thought it would be a total bust. It initially seemed super loud and annoying when I opened it in our apartment, and our dog reacted similarly--she ran and hid. However, when we put it to the test outside, it was fantastic! After just a minute, she didn't mind it at all and it allowed us to not have to watch her constantly. When she did make a run for it, we could hear her up until the point she went completely down a hill. At that point, I think only a foghorn would have helped. Overall, I am very satisfied, as is our dog, for allowing her a small bit of freedom.

After my lab Liz went blind from progressive retinal atrophy and wandered off a few times I leashed her on walks and we were both miserable. My area is too rural for GPS and with this bell she's independent again. When she wanders off I listen and find her. I'm ordering another as the collar is worn. It would be even better if the collar were made of the same biothane synthetic material as her LLBean safety collar.

Moutainhiker Great dog collar
This bell is sturdy and is easy to put on and take off. You can hear it from a distance but it's not an annoying sound. I highly recommend it.

My Springer can get a little "out there" on hikes and in the field and when he's with his brother, they play hard. Bought this collar and the Swiss bell (one for each dog) and am very happy with them. Each has a distinctive sound, the dogs LOVE them and get very excited when I pick up the collars. I haven't found a downside.

When I reach for this collar, my dog knows she's going for a walk. I can hear her in the woods, even when I can't see her. I slide on the Petzl signal light on this. If you have a super big dog, I don't know if this will fit, as my dog is 90 lbs, and the collar is at its max size. But overall, very nice.

We hunt with an 80 y/o guide and two competent German Shorthair Pointers. One dog has a bell and the other does not. We bought this for a Christmas gift for Paul and Duchess. I like the bell. It is audible and now we know where both dogs are. Ocassionalyou get a bonus rabbit whe searching for Pheasant/Chuckar?Bobwhites. It is good to know where the dog is. I like the bells better than beepers. We will put two in the field 01/19/2009.
