I went from a down comforter to just this blanket, it is warm, it is lighter and it breathes better. I may need just a bit more in the depths of winter, but this blanket is the best covering I have ever had. Looks sharp too.
I don't mind the wool on the skin, it isn't as comfortable as a cotton sheet of course but it doesn't irritate if your skin comes into contact with it.

Wonderful blanket for yourself, or as a gift. This is the second one I purchased, the first for me and the second for my Son and his new wife as a wedding present. Highly recommend to anyone and the history that goes with it.

Exceptional quality and heirloom plus it keeps you warm when it's really cold.

I have wanted a Hudson's Bay Blanket for years. The kids have left home and I finally ordered one. It's heavy but soft and warm. I don't have to have as many blankets on the bed to keep warm.

While I am not terribly fond of the colors (Bean only offers one choice) this is a warm, heavy blanket that is generously sized. I am using the queen blanket on a full sized bed and there is lots of blanket for tucking on all sides. The wool isn't scratchy but is also not a blanket one would snuggle up with on the couch. The blanket is sturdy yet pliable, and warm but not sweat-inducing like many synthetic blankets. If I could buy the blanket in a more neutral color, to match our bedding, I would buy another one. Great investment for my family.

I have been wanting to buy this blanket for the last 2 years, and kept thinking oh it is too expensive, and i will wait. Well I just purchased the Hudson Blanket and received it at the end of May, just in time for the 40 degree weather we had at the beginning of June! I have to say I should have not waited; I love my blanket and so glad I have it. I know it is pricey, but it is totally worth it! Also as other reviewers have said it has an interesting history. LL Bean I love all your products, and I couldn't be happier! The blanket is thick, warm, and I love the cream color with the stripes it makes the blanket!

It was so cold during the blizzards of 2015 that my usual standby blanket of goose down just wasn't enough. I added this blanket under it and that did the trick. It feels light and doesn't itch. As the weather warms up I will use this blanket alone as it is very good looking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by nebraska1 third blanket purchased
This is the third twin size blanket I have purchased as I am using them on twin size beds for grandchildren. This most recent purchase was several years after the first two purchased. The red stripe is not the same color red as in the first two purchased. It will have to be good enough. Other than that the blankets are great.

All my life, I've wanted a Hudson Trading Company Point Blanket. I remember sleeping under one when I was a small child in Buck's Harbor Maine in the 1960's. I had the wherewithal to buy one recently, and I just did it. It was everything I remember and more. This isn't just a blanket. It's a piece of history. To those who are thinking about it - just do it. To those who don't understand the history and significance of this blanket - look it up. To own one is to own a piece of history of North America. I can't wait to be able to buy one for each of my three children.
