Have worn these many, many years and have over 20 pair and I love them. Have a friend who ordered a pair and liked them so much that he wore them daily and then complained about the hem fraying, he was washing twice a week. For those out there complaining for crying out loud order more then one pair

Rated 3 out of 5 by Boidboy Wrong color on website
I've been an LLBean fan for going on 30 years, but this classic fit was not classic. Baggy or relaxed is more like it. Plus the color is khaki, and I thought I picked a stone color. Wrinkle free doesn't work either. One washing and one train trip from Albany to NYC and wrinkles everywhere. These just don't measure up to my usual standard from LLBean. Sorry, I had to say that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wifeofchef NO BLACK w/ Pleats!
Are you kiddin' me? I buy these for my chef husband because they are comfortable, look great, and can handle all the stuff that splatters on him. NOW, I need to restock and NO BLACK! They exist in Plain Front but not good for chef work. Please, please, please bring back Black Pleated front Chinos. You're making me look elsewhere and that doesn't make me happy. Thanks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WebsterTwpBill Quality downgrade
The quality of these pants has declined precipitously. Compared to the same pants I bought a year to two ago, the fabric has become flimsy and the "permanent" crease has become more of an aspiration than a reality. After one washing, the crease is vague at best. My older copies of the exact same pants, worn and washed many times, look newer and crisper.
Price competition, I know, but if this is L.L. Bean nowadays, I may as well buy at the big-box discount-brand store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sxl95 ALMOST Perfect pants.
These pants are a staple of my wardrobe. I have multiple pairs, and keep ordering more when they go on sale. They are perfect out of the wash, and need no ironing. These really are wrinkle free, and they mostly take my abuse! They are also comfortable.
The only thing keeping these pants from getting a 5 star rating is that the cuffs fray much too easily. I have multiple pairs that I can't wear to work because of the frayed cuffs, and I have to be careful with my other pairs.
I also have several pairs of the now discontinued cargo version of these, and love them, except for the same cuff fraying issue. I really wish they would re-introduce the cargo pants, because unlike these, I can't order replacements.
Due to the issue with the cuffs, these don't seem to last as long as I would like, but thanks to the great customer service from L.L. Bean, I know I can exchange them if need be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 30yearLLBfan old ones better
If I did not know better I would give these five stars for fit, value, and appearance. However, I still have an old pair of the same pants made back when they were poly/cotton blend, with no starch treatment. The poly/cotton are more comfortable, fit just as well, and wear WAY better.
I wear LLB chinos as part of a work uniform. The old ones are in the same rotation as six newer pair. The old ones still have no seam wear and no cuff wear. A couple pair of the newer starched cotton ones are being replaced today.. More of the same new style, so I must think they are fair value. The newer ones did last a couple years anyway. The new ones just cannot compare to the old ones, except they do hold a crease better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Indianrider Colors are misleading
I tried to replace a pair of chinos that I had worn out, but when I typed in the item number from the tag on my old pants, nothing came up online. After looking at the photos and reading the descriptions, I ordered these pants in "light khaki". When they arrived, they were darker than I expected. I sent them back. It cost me $6.50 and a trip to the UPS store to find out that "light khaki" wasn't light at all. Be careful what you order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Waterpolicy Great Pants. But Wish I Could Have Them Cuffed
Go ahead order these pants! But there's a caveat.
I usually wear a 30: inch inseam. So, I ordered these pants in that length. However, they were too long. Sent them back and requested a 29" inseam which fit perfectly. But, I do wish that I could order them cuffed. Next time I'll likely order the pants in a longer length and let my local tailor cuff them. Bean's do cuff other slacks for a nominal charge - I believe it is in the range of $10. I'd rather they would do the cuffing because Bean's is so perfect in doing them.
From previous experience (I ordered these pants 6 years ago and I'm still wearing them - unfortunately haven't been able to slim down) these are nice looking and comfortable slacks. However, I wonder if Bean's switched manufacturer since my previous two pairs are 30" length and fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Memphismuzikman CANNOT BEAT THESE CHINOS FOR THE PRICE
I wear these to work everyday. They wash great and come out of the dryer virtually wrinkle free. They last about a year with regular wear and washing before the cuffs begin to fray. I will keep buying these. Only hope bean does not change the vendor that manufactures them. Great value for the price.
