I love the Double L Chinos--so much so that I wear a pair just about every day. However, I would like to have some more variety to my wardrobe. LL Bean used to make these pants in a 'pale khaki' or 'soapstone' color that was much lighter than the 'khaki.' They looked especially nice in the summer.
Please, LL Bean, bring back the 'pale khaki' --and perhaps even introduce a 'Nantucket red' or some such. I will buy 10x alone!

I have been using LL Bean products for almost 30 years. I have purchased the Chinos every 24 months. I typically have each of the colors and wear through them every two years. I call it my LLBean Chino refresh. I put these through a lot of wear and have been very pleased with the quality and how well they hold up. However, I just ordered 4 new pairs of this product and was very upset with the quality. The fabric is inferior to my previous LLBean Chinos purchases. I could have purchased better quality at my local Big Box store. The material is lighter and not as robust as the pants i purchased form LLBean 2 years ago. I learned that the family sold out to investors. It seemed that quality always use to be an important aspect of the LL Bean Brand, but now it looks like outsourcing to the lowest production mills over seas has taken a front seat to quality... its a shame when investor's take importance over customers. I hate to see this happen to LLBean... its like I'm losing a family member....

Rated 4 out of 5 by ZviJ Nice pants, frayed too soon but redeemed
These are very nice pants. They look nice, the fit is good, they are comfortable, liquid rolls off them, they did not shrink. In fact, they became my favorite every-day pants. They would have been 5-star rated BUT, after having them for four months - worn 30-40 times, washed 2-3 times - the seat of the pants frayed through on an area about the size of a quarter. I contacted Customer Service and, on their directions, returned them for an equal exchange. In less than a week I had the replacement pants at no charge, not even shipping costs. Good customer service redeemed the quality problem. I am now waiting to see how the new pair holds up.

These are NOT wrinkle free! Looked great out of the "box" ... washed them as per the instructiions .... came out wrinkled and then used a steam iron to get a semi-wrinkle free pant (had them on a pant hanger and used the iron to 'go up and down' on the fabric .... wore them and when I got home they were as wrinkled as when the pant came out of the dryer .... I am sending the pant back and purchasing the chino at $69. etc. ... say tuned. LL Bean has been a favorite of mine for 40+ years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Decker Thin material poorly contructed
Tight in waist and butt. Material is very thin and cheap feeling. I can see why they are on sale. Not up to Bean's quality. I'll keep buying their dress pants, hopefully they haven't cheapened them.

Fit well, very good fabric and stitching, it's pretty easy to see why they can offer the assurance they do when you feel them. There are a few threads that poke out but the pattern seems like it should resist unraveling pretty well.
The only downside I've noticed is that the fit was different between the Navy and Khaki versions of these that I purchased, I preferred the tighter fit of the Navy and would have liked it to be the same on both as they were both listed as classic fit in my cart. Not really a fault of the product though.
Having had several lower priced Chinos fray under normal use (getting in and out of car seats breaking off back pocket buttons, wearing down back belt loop, etc) I'm hoping these will be more resilient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LLBeanFanSince1980 Inferior fabric
These pants look very good and fit me well, but the fabric is shoddy. After relatively little use the fabric is frayed at the hems and noticeably worn at the knees. It certainly does NOT "wear well," as claimed in the product description! I wish LL Bean would bring back the very durable polyester-blend fabric they used to use for these pants.

You may want to avoid the "dark khaki", as it has an odd orange color.

I was a D3 wearer for years. I tried the Standard LL Chino and was swimming in them, I called LL and they told me these Classic fit were what I wanted and gladly took my return and I ordered these. I will never go back! While these are a bit roomier than my old D3 they have the room where you need it, they fit a slim guy very well and have all day long comfort. The material is a step heavier then the D3s (read as upgrade!). And they all seem to be treated with some sort of scotch guard stuff. I have dribbled coffee and water and it beads up and just rolls off. No cuff issues either like others have had. Casual work-wear I actually like to put on in the morning, who'd-a-thunk it! Thanks LL
How about a grey color guys?

Excellent quality fabric. Soft and yet wrinkle resistant. LL Bean has perfected this one. It's a no-brainer purchase for chinos.
BTW, buyer beware. Your jean size is NOT your chino/dress pant size. I take a 34'' in jeans, but a 36'' in dress pants (talking about waist size for those who still haven't had their morning coffee).
