Rated 4 out of 5 More Colors Please!
I love the Double L Chinos--so much so that I wear a pair just about every day. However, I would like to have some more variety to my wardrobe. LL Bean used to make these pants in a 'pale khaki' or 'soapstone' color that was much lighter than the 'khaki.' They looked especially nice in the summer.
Please, LL Bean, bring back the 'pale khaki' --and perhaps even introduce a 'Nantucket red' or some such. I will buy 10x alone!

Rated 2 out of 5 by rmRI Quality not as good as it used to be
These do have their upside: Perfect fit and they need no ironing.
Every pair however, that I have purchased over the last few years including the LL Bean replacements have torn or frayed at the hems (at the cuffs) after less than 8 months of use. I have older LL Bean Double L Chinos still in use that I have had for years. I have been an
LL bean customer for years and I have been 100% satisfied with all
other purchases.. I hope that Bean will correct this problem so I can resume buying my chinos at LL Bean.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RichNazPA Good product but quality is slipping ,
These chinos have been a favorite and very durable item in my closet for many years. They look smart and,as advertised, resist creasing and stains.
Unfortunately over the last couple of years the quality has gone down and I have had to return them to the local l l Bean store for a refund. The problem is that the very bottom of the trouser leg above the shoe frays after only a few months of wear. The material is definitely not holding up as it did in the past. The pocket openings also fray.
In addition, on the most recently purchased chinos, the buttons are falling off..
The fit and tailoring is still excellent and I remain hopeful that LLBean can fix this problem which appears to be in the material. Itself. Perhaps the company is trying to continue to offer these trousers at a specific price point but if poor quality drives away loyal customers that may not be such a good policy..

Rated 2 out of 5 by Deanniel the color Light Khaki
Very surprised at the color "Light Khaki" that we ordered. It is nothing like the color advertised. It is actually more of a yellow color. Going to send them back and try the dark khaki next time. The fit, however, is spot on for this pant.

I ordered two pair with 32" inseam. Even though the bag indicated an inseam of 32", both pair measured only 31 1/2". And guess what, I ordered one pair khaki and the other pair light khaki, they were both the same color!

Rated 2 out of 5 by JSmith88 cannot withstand commercial laundering
Initially I was sold on these pants. The price was right, and the classic fit worked well for me (5'8", 145lbs). But after about 5 commercial washings the pants are fraying at the bottom hem. Lesson learned

Rated 2 out of 5 by Gypsophila Badly sized
I ordered a 34/30 to replace a pair of the same pants that had worn through at the edge of the bottom of the leg. Those pants were not very old and in good condition otherwise but I wonder if the wrinkle proof sizing makes the fabric stiffer and thus prone to wear on a sharp edge? The new pants were both too tight and too short. The previous pair had been a 33/30 but we got a bigger size to allow for long johns. The so-called 34" waist measured less than 33" (acttually smaller than the old pair with the 33" waist) and were only 29" in the leg. I am exchanging them for another pair hoping that this was an aberration from Bean's usually excellent quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by oldbaldgoose Wears out too fast
I've had several of these chinos and the material wears out much too quickly, especially by rear pocket where I keep my wallet and the bottom of the pant legs. I can purchase similar pants from other retailors for a much lower cost and I can wear them for at least twice as long or longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Seve2125 Perfect khaki for the price
This is a perfect khaki for the price. I have been buying them for over five years now. The fit is perfect and I wear these often to the office with a sportcoat. The only downside to these pants is that the hem frays really quickly and after about 9 months of wear they can look a little beat up. This wasn't the case with the version of these pants purchased 4-5 years ago, but the last couple of years I've noticed it more and more.
