I wear size 8-81/2 shoes so I ordered size 8 boots. They fit just fine.

Forgive me, this review is probably going to be a little long. I researched and coveted these boots for a year before making my purchase, and with that came a lot of considerations.
First. Sizing, everyone is right when they say order down.
I'm normally a 7 and I got a 6! Perfect fit.
This is what I learned:
I loved the Sherpa. But boy oh boy were they warm. I go to school in SC and am from New England. So I still wanted Some breathability. So I opted for the thinsulate lining. I may get the Sherpa insoles anyway for funsies.
I wanted water proof from the snow and some warmth in case I'm out shoveling as well
The gortex is apparently super warm. But also takes up some space in the boot. It's also $$ goretex makes the boots nearly unbeatable by water.
Thinsulate adds another layer of warmth. Bean boots are famous for being drafty.
I decided on the thinsulate cause they would be warm. Still waterproof to a point, they are bean boots. And I could wear my thick socks happily. Or thinner ones in SC!
I did not opt for the goretex because if it is that rainy out and I'm wading through feet of water. I'll just wear my rain boots.
Originally I loved the 10 inch but when I tried them on they were much taller. My favorite way to wear the boots, Is that just kind of thrown on look, no laces tied, which is also my planner for when I take the dog out when it's cold. This didn't really work for the 10 inch.
So I ended up with these which are super comfortable, warm, and waterproof! And perfect enough to hike, shovel, or trek to class in!

I usually wear a 6.5 size shoe, and I ordered a size 6 of the Thinsulate boots. I never thought of my feet as particularly wide, but with thicker socks, the front of the boot was a little too tight to be comfortable, but my heel still could move up and down with a good amount of ease.
Overall, I think these boots are going to be great! I can wear them with thin socks and my heel moves a little, and I can wear them with mid-weight socks and they fit pretty well. Really thick socks are a little too tight, but with time this might solve itself as I get used to the fit of the boots and they form to my feet a little more.

Love these boots. I have akways been leary of ordering clothing and shoes online but was very pleased with theses. They do run big. I have a wide foot and sized myself per the guidelines listed. I normally wear 8-8.5 but ordered a 7 wide and they are perfect!!!!

Sad to see that the quality has suffered. Stitching looked crude compared to my old pair, and there were gaps between the leather and the rubber. Insoles were flimsy. Returned 'em.

Went a size down, & everything else was as advertised. Winter, I am ready for you (but don't come yet).

It took a few months to receive the boots. but that is understandable since they are made in Maine, and I ordered at the peak of snow season. The quality is beautiful and the fit is really great. I usually wear a 7.5 and went with a size 8 and they are just perfect.
