This is a great shirt! A true classic. Comfortable at a wide range of temperatures whether out winter camping or just around the house! Thanks for a new favorite! You know the shirt that you just keep going back to time after time.

This shirt is built tough, is ready for the outdoors & is nice & hefty. A welcome flannel addition to my flannel staples This one already has a prominent place in the rotation. Super shirt!

Great cool weather shirts. Warm and comfortable. Wears well as a daily cool weather work shirt, remains good looking after many washes.
Sizing seems accurate, the sleeves are long enough and the girth is comfortable.
I've owned many of these over the years, still one of my favorite shirts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by StageWoman Great Shirt. Fills the Bill Perfectly!
I have become so disenchanted with LL Bean's--and the women's clothing industry in general--that I have finally given up and started ordering men's clothes. I spend most of my time outdoors, and though I have to give the long sleeves a couple of rolls, these men's shirts are beyond wonderful: heavy, 7.5 oz. flannel that almost serves as a jacket over a turtleneck; nice and long; rugged enough to keep me warm whether I'm rototilling, chainsawing, or wielding a hatchet and machete. The wimpy women's shirts are made of thin, flimsy flannel with a so-called "feminine fit". They are far too short in the torso (and I am only 5'3") and fitted so as to restrict free movement. Apparently women are supposed to sit by the fireside and look cute while the men are outdoors doing the rugged work. Big fail, Bean! I just put two more of these plaid chamois shirts in my shopping basket. Rolling the sleeves is a small price to pay for comfort and freedom of movement. Have only laundered mine twice, but it washed beautifully, and looks great, with no pilling mentioned by another reviewer. All in all, a wonderful, warm, rugged shirt. CHEERS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marvi My Husband LOVES This Shirt
I bought this shirt in Ocean Blue for my husband a couple of years ago and just as soon as the weather even looks like it will be cool enough to wear it he has it on. Literally, and I mean literally, when the weather is really cold I have to wait until he is in the shower to grab the shirt so I can wash it (talk about Linus's blanket!). When I purchased it I wasn't sure whether he would even like it, but it was a BIG hit. I'm going to purchase another one this year so at least when one's in the wash he'll have another one to put on so he won't have withdrawal symptoms. It washes up great and doesn't shrink. I noticed that one of the other reviewers mentioned that "they" need to make this shirt for women -- that would be really great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by stewju Chamois looked ratty after first wash
This shirt is a nice thick, warm material. However, I was disappointed in the quality of the material after the first washing of the shirt (yes, I followed the washing instructions on the shirt). The Chamois balled up and made the shirt look ratty. Other flannel shirts I have ordered from LL Bean have stayed looking really nice after years of washing. For the cost of the shirt, it should hold up better and look nice after washing. I will keep it as it is a nice warm shirt for wearing in the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SparkyDesertRat champion chamois
This is the forth in the line and once again can not be beat! The first one is still going strong and keeping me as warm as the newest one. When the cold Mohave (high desert) wind starts to blow. Had on at work last week and got many, many, MANY complements and several arm rubs!!!!!! Softest flannel ever and even after years of wear still no pilling. Now that they are available in plaids will need more room in the closet!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by CarolinaOutd00rsman Slightly Disappointed
I was let down when I received the Chamois shirt. Based on the reputation of both LL Bean as a company and this product in particular, I thought I was going to be receiving a thicker and more robust shirt. Whether I was misled or simply had false expectations is irrelevant. It is more suited for the office than the outdoors.
What this shirt is:
Very soft and comfortable
Constructed of very, very thin and lightweight cotton
What this shirt isn't:
I am a 5'11'' 160 lb. male and the size Medium was right on the money. I prefer to wear it as an overshirt rather than a shirt by itself. I just wish it was made of thicker cotton.

Rated 5 out of 5 by oldmarine Great for men, how about for women??
These are by far my favorite shirts from October through March in Texas, but why don't you have them for women? My wife loves them, but they button wrong for women, and the cut is really not right for women, either.
The quality is impeccable, the fit is great, and (at age 79) I feel at least 20 years younger in them... But Mama wants several, and they just don't work for her in the men's cut.
Given the number of other folks' comments on lack of these great shirts for women, we'd love for good old LL Bean to take the hint and make Mama happy.... If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by BobLLBeanShopper1 No semblance to original Bean Chamois Shirt
My new LL Bean Chamois shirt was a real disappointment. Although cut like an original LL Bean Chamois Shirt this new shirt is made of very light material. I compared it to some of my older Bean chamois shirts just to confirm my impression and my old Bean Chamois shirt material is, indeed much heavier. I much prefer the older, better quality, version and wish Bean would go back to the original.
