Rated 3 out of 5 by BainbridgeIslandGal Bring back the blends, please!
I have LL Bean turtlenecks I have worn every winter for the past 15 years that were made in a poly/cotton blended fabric that was perfect weight, draped beautifully, and looked great straight from the dryer. I have since tried the cotton versions now available and have been disappointed every time. The fabric is too bulky for layering and does not drape nicely enough to wear on its own. The body always shrinks a bit in length and just makes my shape look square and clunky.
I wish you would bring back the old style 50/50 blend fabric--I only have 2 of them left, but would buy every color now if I could!

You used to be able to buy "easy care" turtlenecks which were made of a 60% cotton/40% polyester blended fabric. I still have some. The colors were beautiful, they absolutely didn't shrink and L.L. Bean was the only place you could find them.
The new ones I've gotten have simply become useless due to shrinkage. I think the folks at L.L. Bean should read all the negative reviews and bring back the blended fabric. I've looked all over the internet for "easy care" turtlenecks and none are half as nice as my old ones.

Bought 3 turtlenecks and all have shrunk beyond ever wearing. I can use them for rags. I washed them in warm water and dried on low heat like I do for my knit tops. These are so snug and short (lengthwise and sleeve length). I have bought other brands of turtlenecks and they are just fine. I have been pleased with other LL Bean products but NOT the turtlenecks. I would return them for new ones but what's the purpose because the new ones would only shrink!

Rated 2 out of 5 by kafofco Waht happened to the sizes?
I have LL Bean turtlenecks that were purchased more than 10 years ago. I have finally worn them out.
I'm a loyal customer of 40 years.
In trying to purchase new ones I find there is no longer the option of ordering these in Tall.
I ordered a size bigger than my originals and they are way too short and the sleeves are even shorter.
I have returned for an even bigger size but am very unhappy.
I have my doubts that they will fit properly
Many of us have longer torsos and arms and regular does not fit.
Other companies offer Tall and I may need to switch brands.

This turtleneck isn't quite up to par. The sleeves and body are too short - the shirt doesn't stay tucked in. The neck is rather large. The fabric is a good weight. Cancelled my back orders on this one.

I do like these turtlenecks, but they have things wrong with them. I had shrinking issues just like other reviewers. My arms are long anyway, so they ended up about 2 inches short. I wish the neck length was longer and the width was narrower. The turtleneck doesn't have quite enough fabric to fold over as I would like. Otherwise, the fabric is soft and durable and it tucks in well. I also enjoy the colors available.

I loved these turtlenecks until they were washed. They shrunk in the length and also the sleeves. Very disappointed. What happened to using a blend in the fabric?

Bought three of these hoping that the poor reviews were not accurate, but after only one careful washing/drying, (cool water, low heat), they shrunk at least 2". Dissappointed in LL Bean's slip in quality.

This is a very comfortable turtleneck that also looks nice. The neck itself stays up but isn't uncomfortably tight. The small and medium both fit fine, but I prefer the medium for fear of shrinkage. The light apricot color is a slightly peachy pink that looks better than it sounds. It's a great wardrobe staple.
