Rated 3 out of 5 by Carpxpert Boat, canoe net
Just received the boat/canoe fishing net, well proportioned for boat/c anoe or float tube fresh water fishing. The built and finish are however not as nice as the LL Bean C&R net purchased a few years ago. The C&R net was very close in quality to a Brodin net. The new Boat and canoe net however is a little cheaper looking and rough in places. Still, overall a pretty good value for an American made laminated trout net.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SkagitAngler Katahdin Boat Net--Not Quite as Advertised
The Katahdin boat net I received was made entirely of ash, not "Beautifully crafted with contrasting wood lamination of ash, walnut and bird's-eye maple," as described. Perhaps the size of the net precluded lamination with three woods but if that's the case, the description should have noted that. Also, the net hoop is attached with screws, not glue, and it seemed as if the screws were over-tightened, causing some splitting or separation. This could be repaired with epoxy, but I wasn't sufficiently satisfied with the net, so I returned it. I suspect the other versions of the Katahdin net are just fine, but I needed a bigger net.

This net is outstanding featuring excellent workmanship and materials.
The finish is great and adds to the beauty of the wood. After looking at similar nets of this kind there is no comparison in price or quality.
It is also very light for it's size making it a pleasure to carry on the stream. Thanks for another quality product L.L. Bean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by COonthefly Not what I expected
I own numerous pieces of L.L.Bean equipment, so I expected the rubber boat net to be as high of quality as everything else. My first impression surprised me. The hoop attachment was loose enough the it could barely support any weight. The hoop alone was flimsy to the touch. A fish of the size this net is meant for would break it into pieces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WestNewtonFlyfisher Katahdin Landing Net (Catch & Release Model)
I received my net today. To say the least it is stunning! The walnut lamination is flawless and the figured wood is beautiful. The finish is excellent. I feel this net compares quite well with nets costing significantly more. Its construction is equal to Brodin and Fisknat but honestly, its materials are better than the two previously mentioned net manufacturers. This is an outstanding product and I would recommend it to anyone.
