Rated 3 out of 5áby Carefulquality Too baggy
My husband just got these and we are returning them.
They are so baggy in the back from the bottom of his butt to about the knee or lower. Otherwise great looking and reasonably light weight. O course we did not wash them so not sure how they would perform in that regard but at least they are made of cotton (a small amount of synthetic combined with the cotton would be okay). He wanted them for overseas travel and would prefer that the front side pockets at the top would have a hidden zipper inside the pocket. The cargo pockets were okay even with the double flap hidden buttons. After all, the idea is to keep items secure from pick pockets. llbean is missing a great opportunity to make a great light weight, hidden zipper pocket pants for travel. Nylon or polyester-type materials are just too hot for most men.

Rated 2 out of 5áby BuyerOpinion Appropriate Fabric for Pants in the Field?
The term "Tropical" weight for fabric used in cargo pants is abviously a subjective one designated by the venodr. In this case, the advertised pants turned out to be slightly heavier than I would have expected for the "tropics."
The fabric was described as "British Khaki." After their mandatory, first cold water wash, they were more of a sickly yellow.
I realized that the pants were not advertised as wrinkle resistant or in any way special. However, of what value are pants, in the field or traveling that require special washing (so much for using laundries in most of the world) and which, upon following special washing instructions, look woefully wrinkled and mis-shaped? This are definitely not pants that will be traveling with me anytime soon..

The lighter weight fabric is ideal for warmer weather, but still a strong fabric for outdoor activities.
The cut and fit work well for boating and hiking.
Cargo pockets are useful without being excessively large.

These pants required a prewash because of your concern the dye would be transferred. This is unacceptable to me. I want my pants to be wearable out of the box. So, I am returning them.

I have always loved the way cargo pants look. My husband dress like he's in the fifties....but had knee surgery. He needed more room in the knee area. He loves the fabric and many pocket and how they fit. WOW I have him dress like he is living in 2014.

The pants fit well. My only complaint is the width of the leg, very wide, over 18 inches in diameter. When shortened to fit, the width is even greater.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Classics4Ever Good Pants, Require Ironing
I bought these pants for my husband. The pants look nice and are made from a lightweight fabric. We thought that the elastic in the comfort waistband would be hidden and it is not, but the pants still look good. The material wrinkles in the washer and this necessitates ironing, at least for now while they are new. Maybe once the fabric softens a little more, ironing won't be needed as much.

As always, excellent quality product. Perfect sizing, well-sewn, durable, yet lightweight and oh, so comfortable.
Washes well, retains shape with no shrinkage or color loss.
A definite favorite with my friends as well! Thanks, L.L. Bean!!
