Rated 5 out of 5 by PaulBinMD I live in these shoes.
It took me 2 tries to find the correct size (that was my fault) but once my 10 1/2 D shoes arrived I have worn them almost every day. They were comfortable and good looking right out of the box.

I've owned these shoes just under one year. I wear them in a carpeted office, sitting at a desk, 1 - 2 times per week. The heels are already worn into the raised leather portion and the sole weld cracked on the left shoe.
I love LLB and will continue doing business with them but men's shoe quality and durability, at any price, is lacking. I have a second pair of LLB casual loafer that have quickly worn on the heels and soles.
The shoes are quite comfortable and the uppers look very, very good. The cost to re-sole the shoes is estimated at $73.

These are well-priced shoes, with an short and easy break-in period, attractive looking, and (after over a month) look great and wear well. I consider them a good value.
Here is an historic note: These shoes replace a pair I bought from LLB around 1987. Those shoes were handmade in Maine, with double-leather soles. During the last nearly 3 decades I have replaced the heels several times, but only within the last few years did the soles wear out, Adlai Stevenson-style. They were extremely comfortable and good looking, better made than the shoes I now have, which are visually a good replica but not likely to last as long as my original pair (but then again, neither am I). A tribute to LLB: Those 1987 shoes cost $89; the 2015 version, $99.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Songman55 Cordovan loafers excellent Black loafers inferior
So first off I love LL Bean. Have decided to no longer shop at the high reputation men's store that dress "presidents" Prices are too high there. So I decided to buy two loafers. One Cordovan last year and this year the black pair. Price beat that other vendor hands down- (295.00) versus 90.00 with bean. Well in this case I got what I paid for. They squeak when I walk. I know crazy.....and the leather is not the same as cordovan ones maybe Bean switched manufacturers in a year? They are a killer to walk in. I can?t explain any of this except maybe Bean switched country of origin and manufacturer. Sorry Bean, my only negative purchase ever with your company.

Excellent looking pair of shoes. They were exactly what I was looking for with leather soles but due to my error the shoes had to be returned as ordered wrong size. Currently rechecking the website for a pair that have the same specifications as this pair of shoes.

True to previous experiences with L. L. Bean, these shoes arrived on time, at a great price and the fit was exceptional. I can always count on shoes from L. L. Bean fitting as they should even with a narrow foot as mine.

For many years I have purchased shoes, shirts, pants and the occasional "other thing" from LL Bean and have never been displeased, be it quality, return for wrong size, or a poor color choice. The phone center runs as smooth as whatever smooth is these days.
