I read probably a 100 reviews trying to get the size right, because they run very large. I wear between an 8.5 and a 9 with a med width. I ordered a size 7 med and they fit perfect. I do not like to wear thick socks but if you do I highly recommend you order a wide not a larger shoe size, because there is still enough room in the length. Hope this helps someone.

They came in last night and I have not wanted to take them off. They look great, feel sturdy and they are well made and very comfortable.
I normally wear a size 6.5, so I ordered a 6. In the color I wanted, the narrow width was sold out, so I took a chance on the medium. Lengthwise and in the width there is a bit of extra room, just like the video says there should be. I'm wearing an everyday medium weight sock and when I walk they slide a bit and feel... well - casual. There should be room for a heavy sock which I will probably want later this week! So now I'm glad I didn't get the narrow ones.
I have a narrow heel and have trouble with mules and flats falling off my feet when I walk. So I was prepared to have to return these. But the front comes high enough that it's not an issue. I tightened up the laces just a smidge and they stay on my foot without effort.
Before purchasing I read the sizing notes and viewed the video and I'm glad I did. If you are considering these boots, please take the time to do this.
If you wear a size 6 and plan to always wear these with heavy, insulated socks, you might be able to do these. Smaller footed ladies are out of luck in this style.
I still don't want to take them off...

Rated 4 out of 5 by JoyeFamily Quality product, odd sizing
I bought the bean boot mocs for when it's rainy in New England in the Fall and Spring, and the weather is wet, but the temperature unpredictable. Thus far, they are a great choice for that task. Since they are not lined they work on warmer days, but there is space for warmer socks. The quality is lovely, and I bought the boot guard leather dressing to reduce discoloration from salt and keep them maximally water proof. My biggest problem is that I am a size 7-7.5 in nearly EVERY pair of shoes I've ever worn. I went with 7, since I often wear 7.5 and want to be able to wear warm socks. However, the length of the boots was such that I would ABSOLUTELY trip. I returned and got a pair in size 6, and these are still pretty large. They slip in the heel still. I'm hoping an added insole will solve the problem. But now that are much more of what I needed. However, size 7 is average and size 6 bean is the smallest they sell! What do peoe with really small feet do? Wear kids bean boots?

Rated 4 out of 5 by Logan90 Great winter shoe
The shoe is comfortable, warm and looks great.
My only complaint is that the heel is too wide. I have wide feet to begin with but my heel still slips. I normally order a size 8 wide but ordered a size down (because of other reviews) and the medium width. They fit great except for the heel, which can be fixed with a thicker sock.
Overall, these are a great pair of shoes to wear with a thick sock!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KB1986 Can't wait to wear them!
I just ordered these on Wednesday and had them at my front door on Thursday! Great fast shipping!
I was in need of some wet weather shoes for when I don't want to wear my tall rain boots and these will be great. I wasn't sure what size to order since I wear a 71/2. I decided to do a chat with customer service and they said to order a 6 since I will be wearing them with thin athletic socks or med weight hiking socks.
The 6 was exactly the correct size. I tried them on with both pairs of socks they fit great! I haven't worn them yet but I walked around my house and they felt good. They look very well made and I'm sure will hold up for a long time. I also LOVE the Navy & Fushia color combo. They look just like the photo :)
A lot of people have been complained about the sizing, but if you follow the instructions or just ask their helpful customer service reps, you will get the right size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MIUpNorth Incredible!
I purchased these boots with hopes that the Medium width would be enough for my wide feet. I am happy to say that they fit beautifully and will even have room for heavier socks in the colder months. The color on the mocs is gorgeous and I can already tell that their quality is impeccable.
The chain link outer-sole is grippy and well made, and the insole is incredibly comfortable (I wasn't expecting it to be this comfortable!).
L.L.Bean truly delivered with this moc, and I highly recommend it.
Being mocs, they do slip in the heel area a bit, but tightening the laces is a simple, effective fix.

Rated 1 out of 5 by justplainme Heel too wide.
I really wanted to keep these cute rubber mocs. I wear a 9-1/2 M and ordered a 9M. After inserting a pair of wool liners in them, the length was good -- not too big. But as soon as I took a few steps, I realized there was nothing I could do about my heel pulling up and out of them with every step. These are way too wide at the heel. I will regretfully have to send them back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by pgh2va just not working, sadly.
I ordered a size 9. the only size I ever wear.
way way too big.
I ordered the 8 and the fit is fine and they are pretty comfy, BUT my socks keep sliding down my foot when I had these on. I can't stand that and don't see it getting any better.
I sadly have to send them back. I can't walk around with the sensation of my sock slipping all day.
this was the moc. maybe a taller boot would work better.
I was hoping to find a nice pair of shoes for rain and slushy days, without putting on full boots.
I would suggest them. I know it's my issue and I'm sure others have no sock issue at all.

I just received these today & my first impression was, "Awesome colors!" The powder blue, navy, & red are even nicer looking in person, but the moc itself has virtually NO heal support... I'm a "Function over Looks" type of girl & this moc is not something I'll be able to walk in for a long time (because my heal slips out of the back & they don't feel ?ber secure on my foot). For that reason I can only rate these w/3 stars. I can see wearing these for trips to the mailbox, taking out the trash, brief outings in the car, & working in the garden - but sadly, that's IT:( I ordered the size 7 because the directions read to order 1 size down from what I normally wear, which is a size 8, and I'm so glad I did! If I had bought the size 8 I would've had to wear 2 pairs of thick socks to keep them on. I just want to add that I really like how these mocs are 100% American Made & I feel good knowing that I'm helping to support a company that respects/honors its heritage & roots! (For that reason I'm keeping them.)

Today, I had received my boots. I was so impressed, I had called customer service and told them how impressed I was. Something I do not do. The boots are well constructed and just darn cute. Its very true, if you are going to wear a thin sock, go down a size, if not they will be too big. Thick sock order your true size. Im extremely please, I can not wait to wear my boots this winter. Thanks LL Bean.
