I ordered a pair of Rubber mocs for my husband. The same size as the boots and shoes that he has gotten from LLBean before. These shoes run to 2 to 3 sizes too large. Since LLBean does not pay for return shipping it costs $6.50 per pair when you are ordering your size. Because I trusted LLBean to be true to size as they have always been in the past, I did not read the negative reviews. That was a mistake. Unless you can buy these at an LLBean store where they will tell you they are two to three sizes too large do not buy these.

These run, at least mine, HUGE!!! I ordered and received a size 10 medium. Sliding my toes to the tip, I had at least a whole inch of space in my heal and a fingers extra width. Order at least one to one 1/2 sizes smaller than normal. Sending it back and of course they are out of stock of smaller sizes, guess I am not the first to realize the over-sizing of these shoes.

I wear size 11Ż or 12 footgear, depending on the shoe last, including Bean Boots, which I've worn in size 12M for a couple of decades. I ordered this shoe in 12M and my feet were lost in them, even with thick socks (two pair!#. So I ordered 11M; still too long. Next I ordered 10W; closer, but I almost tripped TWICE walking from the dining room to the kitchen as my heel lost, then caught, purchase! Now I'm ordering 9W. Good winter footwear, but the company drastically needs to retitle its sizing of this product. The customer shouldn't have to screw around with returning them THREE TIMES to get a #I hope) proper fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 No other shoes or boots like these...
I've been wearing the Bean mocs and boots since I went to prep school in 1978 and they have never let me down. They have served me from snow drifts in New England to the New Orleans Fairgrounds for Jazz Fest to muck and mire in rural north Florida. LL Bean has stood by their products when things like decades old stitching started to come apart and it breathes new life into them.
I can't say I ever wore out a pair of these shoes as my second ex-wife made my 27 year old mocs and boots disappear during our divorce (along with a lot of my other stuff, but that's another story).
I have since ordered or been gifted new pairs and the quality and comfort are just the same. If I don't get remarried I may be able to hold onto the pairs I have now and even be buried in them.

Rated 4 out of 5áby RSpears Great Quality, Takes Some Getting Used To
I got these as a Christmas present and they were the same size as my 8" Bean Boots which are a size 11 so I thought they would fit but they were HUGE when I tried them on. I had to end up buying a whole new pair in a size 10 which is 2 sizes smaller than my normal shoe size. When I first tried them on they didn't really feel how I expected. It took some getting used to but once you tighten the laces they feel better. The slippage in the back was expected but it bothers me more than I thought it would. Bottom line is that its the same EXCELLENT L.L. Bean quality I was expecting just felt weird and took some getting used to. It feels like Sperry's but with the bulkiness of boots. It is a hard thing to describe you just have to throw on a pair and try them out yourself!

Rated 3 out of 5áby MrBoot Well made boot, but the fit won't be for everyone
After being told that the Gumshoe Boot wasn't even available on backorder, the customer service rep suggested the Rubber Moc as an alternative. I've wanted a pair of Bean Boots for slushy winter days for awhile so I figured I'd give them a shot. I normally wear a size 10 shoe, so my foot fit perfectly in a size 9 (medium) boot since I knew I'd only be wearing them with regular socks. I made sure all the laces were snug and went for a trek around my house to see how they feel. UNFORTUNATELY...my heel immediately started sliding out of the boot with every step I took. I understand this is supposed to be a slip-on shoe, but if I did anything faster than a steady walk, these would surely fly off my feet. Plus the back of my ankle would eventually get chewed up from being continuously rubbed by the boot. I strongly suggest getting the gumshoe if you want a shorter boot that fits securely on your foot (hopefully it comes back one of these days). LL Bean customer service/return policy was excellent as always.

Rated 5 out of 5áby RinCO Great Slip-On Boots!
I was a little nervous after reading all of the comments pertaining to the over-sizing of the boots. I wear a 9 to a 9 1/2 shoe depending on the brand in a D width. I also have a high arch. I decided to take a chance and go with a size 8 in D width, it fit PERFECTLY!

Rated 5 out of 5áby WouldbeBeanloyalist Unbelievably Great Shoe
Great fit and durability. I wear these boots while doing gardening, doing dirty handy work around the house, and out in the snow and rain. They are holding up superbly & all dirt washes off. The shoe look fantastic even after all these years. I wish I got the one filled with the fury stuff. Order 1/2 size down for a good fit. I got wide feet and the wide fits nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5áby willplus2 Use the leather tie to tighen if boot is loose
The rule of order down for half sizes is correct-- but in my case the boot was still loose - I discovered that the leather tie can be tightened - and what a difference - all the looseness is gone - the boots feel like a regular shoe---- a helpful hints that should be added to the rule of 1/2 sizes

Though sturdily built, the actual size is easily one size greater than advertised. Whoever designed the lacing system must have been on dope, which makes them uncomfortable to wear.
