Rated 2 out of 5 by Babelation Mis-sized shoes
These shoes are mis-sized, which has caused me/us a great deal of trouble. I first ordered my normal size (10.5). They came and they were too big. So I sent them back, at a cost of $6.50 to me, even though the fault, in my opinion, is Bean's for mis-sizing the shoes. They returned me a 10, but I'd already left for Italy, where I needed the shoes badly, due to inclement weather. My wife brings the 10s to me, and they are still too big. I guess I need a 9.5, but I'm unwilling to risk again the mis-sizing. So we've hauled these shoes twice across the Atlantic, and I've gotten no use out of them. Why doesn't Bean size the shoes right?

Own the 8" bean boot and bought the mocs for warmer less snowy days.
Very comfortable. Normally I wear a 10.5 wide. Had to size down to an 8 wide and they fit great!
These will be getting a lot of use with the warmer wet months coming.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LLBeanCamperForYears Disappointed in the New Design
I bought this "moc" as a replacement for the indestructible gum shoe, of which I've owned two pairs over the past many years. Unfortunately, the reviews I read were correct: even though I bought the "right" size #smaller than my shoe size#, they are a little tight in the toe box, but my heel comes out of the heel box when I walk. Tightening the laces doesn't help - had to send the mocs back. As others have mentioned, I think the problem is the design of the lacing, it's just not as well thought out as the old gum shoe, and there is nothing close enough to the old product as a replacement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Montani Heel too small and lace fastener is a bad design
I really like the idea of these boots, but there are three major problems with them. First, the single leather lace fastening method is no good. It is like a drawstring and it balls up the tongue of the moc and is uncomfortable. The moc doesn't feel secure on your foot. Second the heel should come to the edge of the sole for
stability. Third, it looks like it is almost impossible to replace the leather string if it breaks, as shoe laces do. For $89 the lace should be easily replaceable. These do not look like the old original duck boots I bought years ago. The quality is not nearly as good, in my opinion. I won't ask for my money back, but I would not buy them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Concord1 Heel too big
Although we ordered a smaller size than my husband wears, the heel was too loose. We returned it and ordered down a size again, from his regular size of 10.5 to an 8. The length was perfect but his heel was still sliding out. Too bad because he really liked the shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FarmingDoc Initial impressions are great
I received these about 2 weeks ago. This is my first pair of anything from the Bean Boot line. So far I'm impressed, they appear to be well-crafted and are much more comfortable than I expected. Despite what I've read in a lot of other reviews I've actually been quite pleased with the traction I'm getting on ice and packed snow, although I certainly haven't tested them in the field. I usually wear a size 12 in tennis shoes, and a size 11.5 in dress shoes and work boots. For these a size 10 fits me like a glove, allowing me to slip in and out without issue and having just the right amount of heel-slip for a shoe of this type. If I ordered a pair of the regular Bean Boots, and I plan on doing so, I would order a size 11 so that I could use heavier socks with them. I bought these to have something to quickly slip into for running errands around town in wet summer or winter weather as well as working in the yard and garden during the summer. So far, for winter use, they are fulfilling their role wonderfully. I hope they hold-up well, and if they do, LL Bean will have a Bean Boot customer for life.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ACOrange Nice moc but too large
The size of boots that I've purchased from LLBean in the past were 11M. This is the size I've worn for the last 50 years. LLBean says "buy 1 size down". So I order 10M. These shoes must be 2 sizes too large. These are extremely oversized on me. They fit more like a size 12 instead of a 10. They were not only too long, but are too wide as well. LLBean does not pay for return shipping so it has cost me $6.50 to return this pair. If you are considering this item you should probably buy these at an LLBean store where you can try on a few different sizes first.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Simplythetruth Problem with leather laces
Although I love the LL Bean style and especially the look of these shoes, there is a problem with the leather laces not being able to be replaced (holes don`t allow for that) and there is no after service from the company to replace the laces when needed. Once the lace breaks, you have to buy a new pair or use them without laces.

I have owned 2 previous pairs; this is my third pairs and I wear mostly these all winter long. They are well built and what I like the most is that they are made in the USA, in Maine. I like to buy local products. I added a shearling insole from L L Bean and they are quite warm. Like the genuine leather and the rubber watherproof bottoms.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MsAP Not what they used to be
As a transplanted Northerner living in the South, I grew up wearing LL Bean "duck boots" and have always raved to my husband about them. So when he ordered them and they arrived I was saddened to see that 1) the quality is nowhere near what it used to be, they look like cheap plastic and 2) the sizing is WAY off, they're huge. He said they're very uncomfortable and I doubt this rubber/plastic stuff will ever "break in." I'm afraid they're going back.
