Love this. When replacing my down duvet I searched and searched - there are so many variables and so many different price points. I like sleeping in a cool bedroom and wanted something really warm & of very good quality. This came up on top of my list so I purchased it. I'm so glad I did. I've had it for a year now - it's thick and warm and fluffy - everything I wanted - fabulous!

Rated 1 out of 5 by katee29 So crinkly!
This might be a good product, and seems warm, but it is SO crinkly and loud it is unbearable. Has Ll Bean changed manufacturers? Does no one else notice this?! It is like the feathers are encased in a plastic tarp with a cotton cover over it. With this amount of plasticy rustle, there is NO WAY this is a 100% cotton cover. please tell us what this is made out of! it is kind of creepy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cicerogirl Wonderfully warm; great value
I already own a number of down comforters of varying warmth levels (I even use an old one (with the down all shifted around) over me during the winter when I am watching television or reading) and this comforter is one of the best I have in terms of warmth level and quality for the money. It has good loft and minimal weight, and I have not seen the first bit of escaped down. The outer covering was just a bit "noisy" when I first got it, but with use, that is fading.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hoplow Love the warmth, hate the sides
I love the warmth and weight of the comforter, but I hate the sides. All of the filling moves to the foot of the bed in a day or two. The rest of the filling is fine, but a 6 inch section on the perimeter has no cross stitching to hold the down in place. It is kind of a pain to redistribute the stuffing every few days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aarvensis Excellent comforter... but very very warm!
This comforter is wonderful and very well made but... watch out, it is really warm! It turned out to be too warm for us! My wife & I keep our house at about 50 degrees at night. We like sleeping in a warm bed in a cool room. We purchased this product thinking that we would need L.L. Bean's warmest comforter to stay warm. Not so, we were hot! It was too much for us! I think we would have been quite toasty warm sleeping outside on a cot in the 10 degree night air using only this comforter to stay warm. We returned it and purchased their intermediate goose down comforter (I think they call it the "warm" model, versus this model which they call the "warmer" model but really should be called "warmest." Confusing.) People vary a lot in temperature preference. We don't usually have a problem with being cold so maybe we should have guessed better which would be the best comforter for us.

This comforter is pure heaven. I live in Buffalo NY and the weather can get pretty cold. I had been sleeping with 2 heavy blankets on the bed. This comforter is light and warm, but breathable. I covered it with the flannel ticking stripe cover and it is soft and cozy. My kids want to cuddle with this comforter, so I may have to consider buying one for each of them. It's not fair for Mom to be the only one to experience such luxury. Why didn't I buy one sooner?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shamrocker Sleeping Comfortably
Bought the Warmer Permabaffle Down Comforter a few months ago. It was too warm in the Midwest when it went on the bed in September, but now that it's November it's better.
I'm typically cold, and end up wearing multiple layers to bed so I can stay warm all night (that's with the heat on 68). With this comforter, I'm wearing a nightgown and have kicked the comforter off a couple of times this month. I'm optimistic that in the colder months I'll be able to put a pair of flannel sheets on the bed and be able to sleep comfortably without the multiple layers.
I would recommend this to someone who is typically cold and who doesn't want to use lots of layers to stay warm in the winter months.

Purchased last winter in time for Christmas after 30 yr old down comforter became too thin. Above all expectations. Great luxurious product and cheaper than my original. My bedroom has no direct heat, but I was never cold and sometimes too warm with this comforter even with extreme outside temperatures. It could almost be used as a winter sleeping bag. Only problem was convincing dogs it was not for their comfort!

After ordering 4 different comforters and being very disappointed, I tried this one. We live in northeast and keep our house in low 50's at night. This comforter keeps us nice and cozy. (I do use an additional blanket because I don't tolerate cold well). Great deal...good quality.

Love my down comforter. I am sure that no matter how cold the winter I shall be warm but on the days when it is bitter cold out I will wish to stay under my comforter.
