Rated 1 out of 5 by Alanjayg Not long enough
Tall guys be aware: if you're 6"3" as I am LLBean tall size doesn't cut it. At least with this coat. Could use a few more inches in length. Why did I check off "Yes-recommend"? It's a fine coat if you don't need the length.

I'd been looking for a good barn coat with removable lining for quite a while to replace a long-ago worn out one. After 2 years attempting to catch this one on sale and failing because it is just too popular, I finally broke down and bought it. Overall I am pleased with everything about this coat, EXCEPT, it must be stated, fine hay pieces tend to cling to it. So every time I feed our horses I need to spend some time trying to brush off all the hay before coming back into the house. This came as a real surprise since the material is pretty much the same as most of my prior barn coats (I've gone through about 5 over the years), but none of my others had this "cling" issue. I still give it 4 stars since everything else about the coat has been great. I'm hoping to run across a spray-on finish to uncling it.

Received a Wish List from my son who is out of state for Christmas and placed the order. It arrived and I can have it wrapped and ready for him when he visits over the holidays. Also got to use my coupon for the purchase and had a very nice savings. Your online is very easy for us Seniors to use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by polomom Best outdoor coat EVER!!!
My husband has always admired the way my field coat has held up over the years....(over 20!) so he finally got himself one. It fits great, is comfortable, just warm enough and best of all...the sleeves are long enough too!!! Is now his favorite coat and according to him, will be the last coat he buys!

A perfect blend of fabrics for cool fall days; great coverage and easy fit with a sweater; fit right; arms a tad long; overall, a very nice, comfortable garment.

This is perhaps the most rugged, versatile cold weather coat on the market. The wool liner is very warm, but breathable and the canvas outer shell will keep out water and cold winds. If you're looking for a tough, good looking cold weather jacket at a great price, then this is the jacket for you.

I had a similar coat for many years, sold by another label. However, they no longer made the coat with a button front. The old coat was showing wear at the cuffs and was becoming a little snug with heavy sweaters or sweatshirts beneath. Every one seems to making their Field/Barn coats with zippers now. Until I found this one from LL Bean. Very happy with the fit and finish of this coat. It is very well made and is true to size. I hope this one lasts as long as my "old friend" did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Herbie53 Tough Coat
I just bought my second one. The first one served well during biting cold and winters of unending snow. It is a great knocking around coat on a Saturday morning. It is as tough as nails. Finally had to retire it as I ripped a huge hole in it climbing a fence (don't ask).

Rated 5 out of 5 by BOBINATOR Best coat ever
This is my second Field Coat. After about 20 years or so my old one seems to have gotten a bit snug if I try to layer under it. Other than that, and a bit of fading, it is good as new. No loose threads, no lost buttons. Got the new one so I can layer up when it gets colder. The old one will still do duty in milder weather. ( probably for 20 more years!). Great fit, plenty of really usable pockets, and tough as nails fabric.

Nice jacket. Seems like good quality. Haven't worn it in our winter yet. My suggestion is they incorporate a 2-way zipper as if history proves itself, the buttons will come loose. Also, a zipper would certainly help keep out more of the cold wind, whereas the buttons do have gaps. Because of the way the coat is made now, I cannot add a zipper. Too bad. If it had a zipper, I would give it 5 out of 5. For now, I will give it a 3-4. Also, no inside pockets...bummer. Be nice to get my phone out of the front pockets and into a more secure inside pocket. The more I'm writing, the more I'm leaning towards returning the jacket, because of the reasons stated.
