Rated 1 out of 5 by NJPhil not a regular fit
Catalog says regular and nothing about trim fit......when shirt arrived tag says Trim Fit, L Reg. Sleeves are shorter compared to a similar shirt bought at the same time.

I've bought LL Bean turtlenecks on two seperate occasions over two years. In total, I've bought about eight of them. The first couple of wears, they're great. After that, the color fades, the neck loses its ability to stand up, they get a worn out appearance, and they shrink. The shrinking occurs not in the body so much but in the arms. I mean they're about an inch shorter then when I first wore them. I figure I'll try some other brands and see what happens. Dissapointed.

I own several LLbean mocks. This one and the red stripe included. They fit well. They wash well. After 20+ washings they both look as good as they did new. Perfect over a "T" or as the first layer under a classic chamois shirt, flannel, or blazer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mojomike Great T-neck!
Have several of these mock T-necks in different colors. Great for everyday wear in fall & winter here in Northern VA. Holds their fit; not too much fading over a couple years wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mtnittany Very nice, except plumber's.....
This is a very nice mock turtleneck. The weight is not too light or too heavy, but is good for all seasons. My only complaint is that the tail is too short resulting in the "plumber's crack" when you bend over. I am 5' 11" tall and weigh 185 lbs. but the large size, which Is otherwise roomy as I prefer, has a too-short tail. Add a few inches to the tail and this is a winner!

Rated 2 out of 5 by SFShopper Very wide and not very long
Won't work for men who are tall and slender. Sleeves are not very long and baggy. This top is way too wide and definitely not "preppy chic," just big and dumpy. Too bad, it's going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim620 Improved since last year
I bought this last year and liked them so bought some more this year and like them more. Compared to last year, what I just received is a little bit longer and the neck a little bit higher. I washed them twice so far so I think its a good comparison. That was my only complaint last year. Having said that I still would prefer they make the length a little longer. I prefer these more than other t-shirts because they are thicker and warmer which is why I buy them.

If you really need a tall size, do not buy this product.
I bought two mock turtlenecks in large tall. Despite charging extra for "tall", these were less than generous in body and sleeve length. When they were washed, they shrunk over 1.5 inches in body and sleeve length. They now feel like I am wearing my little brother's clothes.
If I had bought these from a no-name or discount seller, I would not be surprised by the sizing and shrinkage but I expect more from LL Bean and for the price charged.
I would swim in an extra large tall. I need the length not the width. Next time I will avoid Bean and look for a seller that use better quality cotton and is more reasonable in what they term a "tall."

Rated 4 out of 5 by turtlemens Royal red looks different
Nice shirts. They wear well but shrink a bit after multiple washings and drying in dryer. The royal red color looks very different than shown on website - it's much brighter red, too red for me. Colors for these shirts are limited. Please bring back the dark red and greenish blue colors.

I have several of these shirts. My body size is normal. When new they are good. When washed they shrink. This is very annoying. I like the mock turtle neck but it has to fit properly. After washing I will stand on the shirt and pull on it to stretch it. This works to some degree. Why cannot LL Bean request that their supplier make appropriate changes to this shirt. I read in the reviews that I am not alone by a long shot. LL Bean should reassure their customers that a solution is in the works. What is the point of selling a product that falls short (pun intended) in performance.
