If you really need a tall size, do not buy this product.
I bought two mock turtlenecks in large tall. Despite charging extra for "tall", these were less than generous in body and sleeve length. When they were washed, they shrunk over 1.5 inches in body and sleeve length. They now feel like I am wearing my little brother's clothes.
If I had bought these from a no-name or discount seller, I would not be surprised by the sizing and shrinkage but I expect more from LL Bean and for the price charged.
I would swim in an extra large tall. I need the length not the width. Next time I will avoid Bean and look for a seller that use better quality cotton and is more reasonable in what they term a "tall."

Rated 4 out of 5 by turtlemens Royal red looks different
Nice shirts. They wear well but shrink a bit after multiple washings and drying in dryer. The royal red color looks very different than shown on website - it's much brighter red, too red for me. Colors for these shirts are limited. Please bring back the dark red and greenish blue colors.

I have several of these shirts. My body size is normal. When new they are good. When washed they shrink. This is very annoying. I like the mock turtle neck but it has to fit properly. After washing I will stand on the shirt and pull on it to stretch it. This works to some degree. Why cannot LL Bean request that their supplier make appropriate changes to this shirt. I read in the reviews that I am not alone by a long shot. LL Bean should reassure their customers that a solution is in the works. What is the point of selling a product that falls short (pun intended) in performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pathfinder846 Nice shirt, but too short to stay tucked in.
I like these shirts a lot, but with my relatively long upper torso they are too short, especially after washing, to easily tuck in to slacks and keep them there.

This mock turtleneck fit my husband well and is comfortable, BUT, this shirt and others we have purchased shrink in length in both the arms and the body. We have only washed it twice, so far, and the wrist is already getting further up his arm. I wash it in cold water and dry on delicate, cool setting, but still get shrinkage! Why does this keep happening? We purchased this shirt, and others to replace ones that had shrunk over time and this one starts shrinking after only 2 washings. I am disappointed.
Otherwise the fit and comfort are great.

I ordered 5 (3-white, 1 navy, 1 grey) to use as a winter base layer. I am 6'2", 195lbs with a 16.5" neck and 35" sleeve. The store clerks recommended that I purchase the tall size large. After one wearing, the white and navy necks stretched out and lost shape, the grey has a bit of elastic in the neck so it continued to fit snugly. I laundered them in cold water and used the lowest dryer setting. After 2 washings, they have all shrunk excessively. I will be returning all 5 to the store and will not purchase this item again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JoDan Great fit in body , sleeves too short
I have had this shirt for about one and a half months. I am 6 feet tall. I find the sleeves in this shirt too short for comfort. Maybe shorter person could find them ok. Sorry!

Rated 3 out of 5 by rgalverson Nice, but...
The shirt is nice, but I find the sleeves on the large-tall still not long enough even though the torso length is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Barsy Love the quality BUT
I was very pleased with the quality and the fit of these mock turtlenecks....until the first wash. Unfortunately the sleeve length shrank a couple of inches (everything else was fine) and I am now constantly pulling/stretching the sleeves when they are worn.
