My husband and I have worn these shirts for years. He loves them for the tall sizes and the fit. The shirts have been washed many, many times; and never any shrinkage at all. The fit is great. When we first started buying them, they were available in the cotton/polyester, which we love much better. They are even softer and fit better and feel even more comfortable. I just cannot say enough good things about the shirts.

These shirts have gotten much shorter (sleeves & hem length) over the years. Maybe even a little snugger through the chest as well. A suggestion to try the tall size was promising, but not quite right. With the tall version, the sleeves are 2" too long rather than being 2" too short. I can roll them up, but it is irritating. If they would shrink (they don't), then the tall would probably be fine. As is, I have to live with a shirt that I love but is way too short or one that has sleeves too long (the tall hem length is good). I am 5'9" tall.

Rated 3 out of 5 Nice Shirts But
These are nice shirts, they're soft and comfortable and the neck doesn't bind. They do shrink up, however, and a tall size is recommended regardless of whether the wearer ordinarily takes a tall. I bought several and have been disappointed in that the shirts keep popping out of my slacks.
Unfortunately, while Bean is advertising a sale, most of the colors appear to be unavailable on 3/24/13.

I have not had this particular shirt from LLBean prior to this order. My other source had discontinued them. So I figured I would give these a try. I normally wear a Large Tall, too short in the sleeves and even worse after the first washing in COLD water. Reordered in XL tall, sleeves are the same length and shrunk. Not the quality I expected from LLBean.

While the quality seems nice, I had to return the two I purchased recently. After washing in warm (not hot!) water twice, the shirts shrank one and a half inches in length and about the same in the sleeves. My husband can't wear them now because they pull out when he bends over. On the same order, I purchased two crew neck T shirts about the same price which have not shrunk at all. They are keepers.

Good shirt for the price, but not on a par with the former poly-cotton version. Please bring the older version back!

I got this shirt for Chrstmas. I am generally happy with LL Bean clothes, but this one let me down. I asked for the Large Tall size specifically for the 35" sleeve. One wash later, and the sleeves are at least 1 1/2" short. Sadly, this is a shirt that will be worn once and done.

After many years of wearing the regular turleneck shirts, I took the
plunge and tried your mock...wish I had done it years ago. A very
comfortable feel and no struggling to turn the collar down evenly!
I'm wearing one now as I type and, since we keep the temperatures in our house this time of year from a low of 63º to a high of 70º, it keeps the neck warm when we're nearing that low point. The neck of the shirt has remained tight with no stretching, so far. I now have purchased a second one and when the color selection has returned to normal after the Christmas season, I will buy others. Again, LLBean delivers quality!!!

I've ordered several of these mock turtlenecks because of the fit and comfort. The last order the shipping department grabbed the wrong size and shipped it to me so I'll use the return shipping labels that come with the order and ship it back for the correct size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by socalbuyer sadly miss the old 50/50 mocks
Just wanted to add my voice to those that say the old 50/50 mocks were much better. After only one wash, the necks don't hold their shape. The arms shrank significantly. I still wear the old ones but have the "new" ones hanging there since I don't like them. Please bring back the old ones.
