Rated 5 out of 5 by SeaJelly I wear these pants every day*, I'm serious
*Except for when it's super hot out (though the pants are a perfect thickness, making them wearable in many seasons including summer - perhaps a little thin for very, very cold winters, but I'm bad with cold)
I love these pants. They are perfect pants. In my opinion, they look "chic" and perhaps even a little "Parisian" with the bottoms cuffed just a little.
I bought my first pair several years ago and keep coming back for more.
I would recommend them to friends -- by "would" I mean I do, all the dang time.
Buy the pants. I love LLBean.
P.S. The sizing chart is accurate for sure.

I am very frustrated. I have been buying the Bayside Twill, Original Fit Plain Waist Pleated Pants for many years, then you stopped making them. I have tried the pleated pants with comfort waist, and find them very unattractive from the back view. The Plain Front regular waist is slightly too small. The Plain Front regular waist in one size larger is very large in the waist particularly. I see from your reviews that you have many other long-time customers requesting that you make the pleated, plain waist pants again. Won't you consider doing so? For those of us who are older, but still fit and the right weight, there are very few suitable choices. For someone like me who needs a high waist because of a high rise on my body, there are even fewer.

If you liked the curvy fit bayside twill from a few years ago, original fit is the closest I have found. Comfortable and much more stylish than the comfort waist back elastic. I wish LL Bean would bring back curvy fit styles.

I love LL Bean clothes, because of the quality, style, and fit. Some items I am still wearing after years.
Pants that are below the waist, emphasize on my figure a more square look. These Bayside pants actually fit on my natural waist, so it gives me a more feminine figure, with the curves above and below the waist. They stay more wrinkle-free and look fresher longer than other pants. The pockets are very roomy, so I can carry essential items, and not have to carry a purse. I would recommend them to a friend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by rockytopgal No longer come in a Tall size
I have ordered these pants for work for years. Ordered 3 pair and they are way too short. Looked closer and the "Tall" is now "Medium Tall." Customer service said the Baysides no longer come in a Tall size. Guess I will be sending them all back and looking elsewhere for my khakis. Disappointed in all of the changes in the twills. Bring back the true originals in the original sizes!

These are perfect for a curvy woman.
I have been so disappointed over the years as more and more women's pants have gotten bigger at the waist and smaller at the hips, leaving extra to cinch in with a belt and tight pulling fabric around the hips and pockets. If you are of the body type with a big waist and smaller hips, these may not be for you, but if you are like me, with a small waist but curvier hips and you grew up any time before the late 90's, these are what you have been looking for the past 10 years. I haven;t bought a pair of pants that fit this well in about that long. They fit the waist without too much room, and leave some extra around the hips so the pockets don't draw up and they aren't tight in that area.
A sizing note, you also have to buy the size you would have worn in the early 90's. I wear an 8 in most stores, but needed the 10 in this. I followed the sizing guide for my waist, though, and it fit perfectly the first time. You probably don't have to worry if you are close on the hips because they are very generous in that area.
I do wish the fabric was softer. The no wrinkle treatment makes them a bit rough to the touch, and they show everyday dirt much more easily than other khakis I have. I also would love it if they came with a crease to make them look a little dressier. I tried to iron one in, but it wasn't very pronounced. They are, however, very wrinkle free right out of the dryer. No ironing necessary.
I give them a 4 because of the rough feel to the fabric, but all in all it is worth it to find a pair of pants that fits my body type after 10 years of low rise or stretch waist, tight thigh that looked terrible on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WatsonSC perfect for me
On reading previous reviews there was a number of people stating that the waist was somewhat snugger than was comfortable, which I must admit sold me on the product as I have a small waist & often find inches more to pull in with a belt & that looks dreadful, especially as with aging one likes to look well put together ! - so for me at 5'2" & 112 lbs. I found both fit & fabric in a 4P excellent with the slight proviso that a little less material in the thigh would have suited me but I wouldn't knock the garment for that, especially as I bought a blue & a black pair on sale. It has to be impossible to fit all body types equally & happily.

These were my favorite pants but the constant changes in sizing are driving me crazy. I really liked the curvy fit, perfect for my pear shape. They were the perfect fit for small waisted big hipped person. But the older original Baysides from 10 years ago or more use to fit pretty good. These are not the same as the old originals. The rise comes way up in the front. Weirdest thing I ever saw, they should fit at waist. I ordered my normal size in Petite and still the front came way up in the front. The back rise was fine so I don't get the big difference I think you should go back to the sizing from over 10 years ago and add the pleated regular waist also or perhaps bring back the curvy fit.
