Rated 5 out of 5 by Bellyboarder Fit and Fine-looking
I love LL Bean clothes, because of the quality, style, and fit. Some items I am still wearing after years.
Pants that are below the waist, emphasize on my figure a more square look. These Bayside pants actually fit on my natural waist, so it gives me a more feminine figure, with the curves above and below the waist. They stay more wrinkle-free and look fresher longer than other pants. The pockets are very roomy, so I can carry essential items, and not have to carry a purse. I would recommend them to a friend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by rockytopgal No longer come in a Tall size
I have ordered these pants for work for years. Ordered 3 pair and they are way too short. Looked closer and the "Tall" is now "Medium Tall." Customer service said the Baysides no longer come in a Tall size. Guess I will be sending them all back and looking elsewhere for my khakis. Disappointed in all of the changes in the twills. Bring back the true originals in the original sizes!

These are perfect for a curvy woman.
I have been so disappointed over the years as more and more women's pants have gotten bigger at the waist and smaller at the hips, leaving extra to cinch in with a belt and tight pulling fabric around the hips and pockets. If you are of the body type with a big waist and smaller hips, these may not be for you, but if you are like me, with a small waist but curvier hips and you grew up any time before the late 90's, these are what you have been looking for the past 10 years. I haven;t bought a pair of pants that fit this well in about that long. They fit the waist without too much room, and leave some extra around the hips so the pockets don't draw up and they aren't tight in that area.
A sizing note, you also have to buy the size you would have worn in the early 90's. I wear an 8 in most stores, but needed the 10 in this. I followed the sizing guide for my waist, though, and it fit perfectly the first time. You probably don't have to worry if you are close on the hips because they are very generous in that area.
I do wish the fabric was softer. The no wrinkle treatment makes them a bit rough to the touch, and they show everyday dirt much more easily than other khakis I have. I also would love it if they came with a crease to make them look a little dressier. I tried to iron one in, but it wasn't very pronounced. They are, however, very wrinkle free right out of the dryer. No ironing necessary.
I give them a 4 because of the rough feel to the fabric, but all in all it is worth it to find a pair of pants that fits my body type after 10 years of low rise or stretch waist, tight thigh that looked terrible on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WatsonSC perfect for me
On reading previous reviews there was a number of people stating that the waist was somewhat snugger than was comfortable, which I must admit sold me on the product as I have a small waist & often find inches more to pull in with a belt & that looks dreadful, especially as with aging one likes to look well put together ! - so for me at 5'2" & 112 lbs. I found both fit & fabric in a 4P excellent with the slight proviso that a little less material in the thigh would have suited me but I wouldn't knock the garment for that, especially as I bought a blue & a black pair on sale. It has to be impossible to fit all body types equally & happily.

These were my favorite pants but the constant changes in sizing are driving me crazy. I really liked the curvy fit, perfect for my pear shape. They were the perfect fit for small waisted big hipped person. But the older original Baysides from 10 years ago or more use to fit pretty good. These are not the same as the old originals. The rise comes way up in the front. Weirdest thing I ever saw, they should fit at waist. I ordered my normal size in Petite and still the front came way up in the front. The back rise was fine so I don't get the big difference I think you should go back to the sizing from over 10 years ago and add the pleated regular waist also or perhaps bring back the curvy fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Growpeas Sizing ALL wrong
I bought a pair of these in 'collegiate blue' on clearance - and now I know why they were on clearance. The sizing was WRONG. I've bought size 8P in the past and have gained some weight since then, so I ordered a size 10P this time. Let me tell you - the 10P was a good inch smaller in the waist than the 8Ps. I am rating this product a 3 based on prior history with them, but if it were only based on this pair - it would be a 1star.

The last two pairs of Bayside Twill Original Fit pants I bought (14 MT) fit great. The hem started to wear so I just ordered another pair. The fit is not the same. I pulled out my tape measure and compared the new with the old. The waist on the new pair is 3/4" smaller, the crotch, front to back, is 1" shorter, and the width of each leg is 1" narrower. No wonder they're uncomfortable. It feels like you cut a petite size 14 pattern, hemmed it to 32" and called it a Medium Tall. Did you change the 'Original' fit or was this done in error?

I have a small waist and these fit perfectly. I like pants that fit on my waist and they are extremely difficult to find, but not any more. I am a very satisfied customer and have already ordered another pair of these original fit pants.

Please bring back the pleated version of the traditional fit chinos! They are the best and fit much better than the non pleated chinos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by FanOfOlderStyleBaysides Poorly designed Bayside fits
I too am extremely disappointed with LLBean for all the changes over the last few years with the fit of Bayside Twills. I have been wearing these pants as Business casual for 18 years (5 days/week) and the primary reason I became an LLBean customer. The last few years there have been soooo many fit changes and none of them work for me. I have several pair I have been wearing that are needing to be replaced yet I cannot find a fit that works. I have tried them all. Relaxed fit are soooo baggy in the legs. Original fit is ridiculously small in the waist. LLBean please bring back the original pants. Both plain and pleated. Why can't there be an Original fit with the "hidden" comfort waist? Does anyone ever buy those ridiculous ones with the comfort waist? Really LLBean....us working ladies don't want old lady pants for work. LLBean is losing a regular customer as I am not going to keep paying a tailor to fix these pants.
