I have had one of these jackets in the red/black plaid for two years and actually love it. It is warm and the windstopper lining absolutely cuts the wind. I am often too warm when wearing a jacket while driving, but with this one that is not the case. It is very sturdy and runs true to size, with room to wear a midweight sweater or fleece vest underneath it.I am 6'2" 225# and an XL fits me perfectly. I ordered a second one of these, in loden green, as it is a little more dressy than the plaid and I can comfortably wear the green one to business casual functions.

The wool on these jackets are cheap. I returned and bought a made in the (Vermont)USA jacket. No comparison. LLBean has great customer service however they need to start offering more made in the USA products. A red and black checkered hunting jacket doesnt get any more American. It should be made there.

I have had this shirt for quite a few years and noticed one sleeve was getting ratty. I returned it and got a new coat even though I did not have a receipt as it was too far back. No question and no problems getting the free replacement. One of the few who back their product forever. Thank you.

I recently purchased three similar wool jackets with the idea I would choose between them and keep one. Bean's Maine Guide with WindStopper was the mid-priced of the three. By the way, forget the "shirt" part of this--it's all jacket. So, after trying on all three, the decision was made for me. I returned the other two and kept Bean's jacket. The wool is substantial and top quality, the WindStopper lining provides a waterproof layer and makes for easy on/off, the fit is roomy and relaxed, and the jacket looks great. I purchased a Large and there has been plenty of room for layering (I'm a 44R). The zippered storage area in the back was an added bonus and the ultra-soft hand-warmer pockets are well-positioned for easy access. I purchased the appealing Malone plaid which includes a fine green line in addition to the red line that running through the charcoal. Put simply--this beats the competition hands down!

Just bought this jacket a couple weeks ago. I am 5'9 175 and got a medium . Perfect fit . I got it for work because it is 34 degrees where I work but it looks so good I don't know if I want to use it for work. I would recommend it highly.

At six feet, 155 pounds, getting a coat to fit is often a problem: I need the shoulder room and sleeve length (34/35 inch), but not room for chest or belly. The medium, regular in this coat proved a perfect fit, even over a wool sweater. Hand warmer pockets are at a perfect angle. An inside pocket would have been welcome. The large storage pocket at the back--not visible on web pictures--is accessed by an unobtrusive side zipper, thereby enhancing appearance for everyday wear. The metal zipper works smoothly. As soon as I slipped it on, my apprehensions vanished!

I own this in the Malone plaid. I ordered a Small and it fits perfectly. I weigh 180 lbs. and 5'9" tall. Tried fitting into a Medium, but it was too roomy, and sleeves were way too long. The Small is very nice even with layering! I hope this helps others wondering how it fits! JUST ORDERED the Camouflage. Love those morning walks in the cold with this jacket. By the way, the Windstopper is very effective!!

I received this jacket in dark green as a birthday present from my mother-in-law six weeks ago. It is, quite possibly the best jacket I have every owned. At first glance, it seems too light to be for anything but spring and fall wear, but I have found that to be untrue. The jacket is surprisingly warm, probably due to the windstopper lining. The fit is loose and comfortable, with plenty of room for layering. Not only does the windstopper ease the breeze, but it also acts as a liner, preventing sweaters and flannel shirts from getting caught in the sleeves. The pockets are roomy and lined with soft fleece. The cape-like double layer of wool on the shoulders, keeps me dry in all but the heaviest rain. I have no doubt that this jacket will be a close friend for many years to come.

True to size, I am a large regular, and I can fit a nice size layer under this jacket. It has many uses, a great layer under a hunting or ski jacket. I have already cleaned out my closet and this will be my new every day jacket. LLBean again has given us a great product. The only thing that it is missing is a hook loop to hang it on.
