Rated 5 out of 5 by MCG1776 Great Jac-Shirt
This is a really nice looking jac-shirt. As many have said already, the sizes run a bit large. I'm 5'10", 170 and a consistent medium at L.L. Bean, but for this item, I had to exchange the medium for a small--the sleeves were just too long. The small fits me perfectly. That said, it's otherwise a great jacket. The windstopper does make a bit of noise but it's not a deal-breaker. Highly recommend.

This is heavyweight, you'll feel it as soon as you put it on. It's a coat, no doubt. Forget Jacket or shirt, not even close.
Love the wool, although 85% not as good as 100%, just saying.
Two front 'shirt' pockets and two front 'jacket' pockets, haha. Game pocket in the back zippered on wearer's left side.
Speaking of zippers, the main one in the front is formidable and durable. It won't break soon.
Wool is doubled over the shoulders which is part of it's weightiness.
No inside pockets, shame about that.
Collar can be turned up to the wind. Like that.
The windstopper is noisy and hunters will not like it, but it's fine for anyone else that doesn't need stealth capabilities.
Quality stitching, just what you'd expect from Bean.
As with most Bean stuff, it runs large. I got a medium which is a large by anyone else. Still a little big for me, I'm 5'11'" 175 lbs.
Actually perfect because you can layer beneath it.
For a hundred and a half this is an excellent value, also.
Don't give it another thought, just buy it.

I bought this jacket as a daily wear jacket for the winter. It is comfortable with room for layering. I am 6' 210 lbs and the XL is perfect. The sleeves are a tad long, which I like. If you are buying one of these for hunting, the Windstopper lining is a bit noisy. Especially if you are bow hunting. It looks great with jeans or my business casual work clothes. I bought the Malone plaid and have had numerous compliments already. I love wool. I think I'll be wearing this for a long time. I recommend this jacket.

I have had one of these jackets in the red/black plaid for two years and actually love it. It is warm and the windstopper lining absolutely cuts the wind. I am often too warm when wearing a jacket while driving, but with this one that is not the case. It is very sturdy and runs true to size, with room to wear a midweight sweater or fleece vest underneath it.I am 6'2" 225# and an XL fits me perfectly. I ordered a second one of these, in loden green, as it is a little more dressy than the plaid and I can comfortably wear the green one to business casual functions.

The wool on these jackets are cheap. I returned and bought a made in the (Vermont)USA jacket. No comparison. LLBean has great customer service however they need to start offering more made in the USA products. A red and black checkered hunting jacket doesnt get any more American. It should be made there.

I have had this shirt for quite a few years and noticed one sleeve was getting ratty. I returned it and got a new coat even though I did not have a receipt as it was too far back. No question and no problems getting the free replacement. One of the few who back their product forever. Thank you.
