In all my considerable years, I had never purchased a real Stetson hat until this one. I have only recently received this chapeau, but, it is so well made, so comfortable, so adjustable (the brim) and was so magnificently packaged - I just had to comment. This is, by far, the most expensive hat I have ever purchased. Prior to ordering, I went so far as to buy a sewing tape - that was a good idea. My hat fits perfectly based upon the sizing information supplied by Bean. This is a whole new experience for me - a lifelong baseball cap wearer. This is much more fun, more stylish, more comfortable, more protective (of the sun) and comment inducing (if that is important) than I could have imagined. As a more than frequent purchaser of products from LL Bean, this is the most gratifying item of all (and that is very lofty praise).

I thought it was time I had a Stetson hat that wasn?t too far out back but just right and this seems to be it.
I was concerned about getting the size right and I think I done good but one needs to be aware that this hat, unlike some others has a leather sweat band and it may need to broken in as a new pair of leather shoes would.

I really like this hat. Be careful to get the size right though. I had to send back the first one because it was too large. I was not careful enough in measuring evidently, but they do run a little large it seems.

I'm a designer and artisan who loves the outdoors, quality products, and classic field and stream styling. This hat is well made, feels good on, and gives me an excellent, classic look especially with the brim turned down. I'm an avid hunter who is finally taking up fly fishing and I plan on using this hat while fishing this spring. Like most guys I wear a lot of baseball caps but they do get a bit over used and boring. I'm going to buy another Moose River hat for casual wear. I found the sizing dead on and the price fair and reasonable for the quality. My first Stetson and now my favorite hat.

Up until now I've always worn broader brimmed western ("cowboy") hats but was always looking for something a bit more urban for those times when a full-blown cowboy hat just wasn't appropriate. This is it!! This hat has more of a fedora profile but still retains a western feel to it that (for me) is just right. And while the brim is smaller than a "real" cowboy hat, its still enough to provide sun protection.
It's a medium weight soft felt so even on a warmer day in Southern California it remains quite comfortable. Stetson quality (along with a nice satin lining) is top notch and the color goes with pretty much anything. I normally wear a 7 1/4....so that's what I ordered. It was immediately comfortable and fit perfectly.
I liked the hat so much, I order one in Silverbelly as well and I look forward to these guys growing old with me. I'd buy 'em in black and taupe too if they were available.

This is a well-made hat, as you'd expect from Stetson. It is the traditional New England Stetson of a hundred years ago. (Stetson is associated with cowboys, but not just cowpokes wore Stetson by any means).

I ordered two hats for fast delivery for a fishing trip after carefully measuring my head for correct hat size, per the LL Bean instructions. However, each of the hats was far to large for my head so I returned and relized on a baseball cap for the trip.
The product is very high quality; Stetson manufacture I think and displays the sort of quality one would expect for the price and reputation of Stetson. Hats off for the product itself (, sorry had to say it) but no so much for sizing help.

I've been wearing this fine hat for the last week. It fit very well the first time on and has only gotten better as it adjusts to my head. Things I like the most: a large sweat band that turns out to help it dry, slight upturn on the brim for better rain control and smooth as silk lining. I haven't found yet what I don't like about this hat.

I have worn this hat now for 15 years. I normally wear the Brown/Green one, but just recently broke out the silver belly for dress use. 7 1/4" for both. They both fit perfectly.
I will continue to wear these hats. They are perfection.
I could never find a better one of this style, and I tried. I always came back to this one. My only wish is that they make this hat in BLACK. I took my older one to get it cleaned and dyed and they advised that the hat could not be dyed. So..... I hope that they do offer in BLACK. Other than that, this is the best hat with the best fit I have ever worn.
The only reason I did not grade this hat 5 stars is because they do not offer the hat in BLACK and they should do that so the hat could be worn for black tie affairs

This is a good-looking hat; quality is excellent. I gave it to my husband for his birthday - he's in a bluegrass band. Getting the right size was easy, and I think it runs true to size, not larger nor smaller.
