Rated 4 out of 5 by bryanketter Sizing Issue but great retro look.
I love this jacket, it looks great and seems well constructed. I am not sure about the plastic zipper, as that may take years to be answered. I have the same jacket in windstop, same color even. The jacket with windstop is a medium, the shirt jacket is a small. When you lay them on top of each other they are exactly the same size. I really have been having a lot of sizing issues lately with Bean products, and it is making internet/catalogue ordering a real gamble.

Got the red for my husband for hunting. he loves it. I got him his regular size and his 850 lightweight jacket fits under it for colder days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Reprobait It's not Fleece
Bought this red jacket as it so closely resembled one I had as a youngster - and I'm 72. I'm 5' 9" and 177 lbs. I bought a Large. It fit well - just right for a heavy shirt or light sweater under it.. The exception was the sleeve length, they would fit a gorilla. I moved the sleeve buttons one button width farther away and when they're buttoned it cured the length. I want to remind you that this is "wool" and not fleece. It's not soft and cuddly - it's hard "WOOL" and wind goes through it like spit through a goose. However it is very "CLASSIC" and I love the retro fit and look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MasterGuide Handsome jacket with a well tailored look.
I recently ordered two Jac-Shirts in traditional Maine Game Warden dress-red. As a master Maine Guide, I just love the wool, tailored fit and look of the Jac-Shirt. In Maine, the Jac-Shirt is the traditonal jacket worn by guides statewide. I also have the same jacket lined with wind-stopping materials which I wear during deer hunting season. The jacket can be worn as a field jacket or as a classic dress coat. Coupled with L.L. Beans long tradition of supplying outstanding service and quality hunting clothing, the Maine Guide Jac-Shirt is a "must-have" clothing item for those who love the outdoors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Roughrider Sizing A Little Off
I found the Large reg size about a 1/2 size larger than anything else I've ever purchased from LLB. Nearly every dimension with the exception of the neck size could be considered XL. It is useable although a little baggy and does leave room for layering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by anotherOldGuy awesome jacket
Here's my two cents. Several reviews have said that this shirt is too large. Well, it is a huge shirt but it is only an average jacket. I am 6'2'' and about 220 lbs. and a XL regular fits me well (as a jacket). I was concerned that the 11 oz. fabric was too thin, but there is a cape over the shoulders both front and back. I don't know why some reviewers said that the cape is incomplete. On my jacket the second layer goes all the way around the shoulders and chest, surprisingly warm. Good to low 40's I'm guessing. The sewing is first rate, very well constructed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TexasHuntingGuide Perfect for taking the edge off!
Has a great fit very relaxed through the chess not too tired at all, is definitely long enough sleeve length is not a problem, and I personally pair this with one of their chamios plaid shirts. Wearing those two together actually makes me very comfortable to be out in anywhere near 30? to 20? weather.

I couldn't be happier with the quality, price, and color (red) of this jacket. It will be my deer/ fish camp jacket for many years to come.

I have spent over 500.00 bucks and returned twice so I am done with LLBean, and sad as I have many items from 1950 thru 1970 that fit great and wear well. But everything I ordered so far now is all way over size for the label and always sleeves too long. So rather then keep sending back as I do like the cloth I will pay a tailor to adjust the sleeves. Its cost more but worth the lack of aggravation.
Also will dry clean everything so maybe will shrink some. Sorry LLBean you lost an old customer and I lived only a few miles away from Freeport.

I give the sizing a 1 star because the small I ordered to fit my 5'3", 130lb frame fit me as though I were a 5'7", 160 lb man. Waaaaay too big. Too bad for me as the garment looked top notch and was exactly what I had been hoping for... Had to send it back.
