Not a good fit - large across shoulders, sleeves are too puffy, & it's too fitted across hips. The fabric is extremely poor quality. I knew it was not wrinkle free, & 100% cotton, but usually I can get away without ironing if I'm careful with the laundry directions & immediately remove from the dryer. Not with this shirt -- it was a flimsy, wrinkled mess & would need starching & ironing to look decent. Definitely going back.

I've bought 2 Peaks Island blouses in the past.
I purchased this one, on sale.
It is not styled the same (no pockets), different sleeves, just not the same quality. Kept it, but probably will end up in Good Will.

I really wanted to like this shirt because I love the fabric, but the styling is dreadful. The puffed, puckered sleeves look silly on this type of blouse and the body fit is odd as well. I have similar Bean shirts with normal sleeves and fit that I've worn for years. Sadly, this one is going back.

Where did that nickname come from? I purchased the earlier version of the Peaks Island shirt that actually had the front pocket detail described in the catalog. This current version has no pocket, has a much larger neckline and much lower top button. The earlier one was much nicer! Even the Petite X-Small is swimming on me and gapes in the front and the shoulders are too wide. Can you return to the earlier pattern?

light weight fabric nice in hot weather, however is a bit see thru and does wrinkle. The drop tail hem is not for short people

Wonderful material. Lightweight, but not sheer, doesn't wrinkle, doesn't shrink. I wore it the other day when it was 111 degrees. Nothing would have been more comfortable.
I know some have criticized the sleeves. I took a good look at it, and I can't imagine a different style that would work. For those who don't like this look, why would you order it? It looks just like it is pictured.
I bought 2 last year, and this one this year. I'm tempted to buy another. Oh, this plaid is very cute with jeans.
Lastly, it is true to size. My usual medium fit perfectly.

I bought both the plaid and the floral shirts & waited till I had washed & worn twice to write this review. I like the overall shape & fit. Adore the cool comfort of the light cotton. Like the other reviewers, the bottom of the sleeve is cut too small in comparison to the gathered top of sleeve (I'm a former seamstress, and I know). That's why all of us have trouble being active in this shirt. The people who aren't having trouble with it either aren't that active, or their individual blouses were made up slightly differently. I can work around that by not planning to be active in these blouses. However, my biggest problem is that after an hour of wearing them, they look like someone wadded me up and threw me away: THEY WRINKLE LIKE CRAZY. If I put my seat belt on to drive two blocks away, I get out of the car with a set of wrinkles across my lap that look like I was folded in half for three days. Yep, they come out of the dryer ok - but don't ever put them on. Just stand and look at them on the hanger. Otherwise, they are going to be a wrinkle-y mess. Maybe I just live a more wrinkle inducing life, but the blouse seems to get shorter every time I get out of the car because the seat belt has been sitting at the bottom edge of the blouse putting wrinkles in it. It's sad too, because I love these blouses a lot. Maybe I'll just put them on display in my closet...

Rated 5 out of 5 by LbgLady Lightweight and flattering
I get what the previous reviewer wrote about puffed sleeves, but honestly this shirt would look odd with non-gathered, set-in sleeves. It is a lightweight, flow-y shirt and the sleeves match the style. They are not really puffed in the old-fashioned sense, that is, designed to bulge upward at the top of the shoulder, just slightly gathered at the shoulder seam line around the entire outside. This is a very cool shirt for hot summer days, and the fabric would probably be somewhat see-through if not for the floral pattern. It is flattering if you want an easy shirt to throw on for a hot day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by texasreviewer This shirt is PERFECT!
Cannot believe some of the negative reviews. This shirt is darling! And it is so comfortable. If you want something to fit like a glove, or if you have big arms that make you self conscious, or if you ordered a size too small, don't review. It's your mistake. Great shirt! Keep making them!
