Rated 4 out of 5 by FlyingCustomer Good Suspenders/One Issue
Suspenders with metal clips are good, elasticity is just enough so you can bend and move comfortably. After two years of use there's no wear or durability issue. The one issue is that the metal adjusters have sharp corners at the top. If your size ends up with the adjusters at stomach level and you're not wearing a jacket over them they can scratch the inside or your forearms. Maybe I should have ordered the next size up to move the metal adjusters up to chest level. Or LL Bean could eliminate the sharp corners on future versions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ZVBXRPL Smelly, flimsy, not made in USA
The pair I got smelled terrible, like old rubber, was flimsy (hardly "heavy duty"), dirty, and marked as being made in the Dominican Republic, not the USA as stated on the web site.
I am returning these ASAP.

I bought these suspenders in the Flagship store. The quality of the leather fasteners seemed consistently poor on the numerous suspenders inspected whilst looking for the right size and color. I took a chance relying on Bean's customer satisfaction policies to cover me if the suspenders proved to be as weak as appearance would suggest.
One of the button fasteners ripped within moments of putting them on. I was wearing Filson Double Tin pants which are mighty heavy but it's not like I was doing jumping jacks. These babies would require a lot of TLC to make it in the world. I would recommend you pass these by.

Suspender straps have no elasticity. Very uncomfortable and look terrible while seated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by activeNona They hold his pants up
They do what they are supposed to do ... hold up my husband's pants.
He has complained that the straps are"stiff" and do not seem to be "very stretchy". Haven't tried washing them yet to see if they would soften up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joanzie Great suspenders!
My husband loved these suspenders. They really hold well and are great with heavy work pants. Others the clips would wear out and not hold after a while. These are really heavy duty and great quality.

I am about 5' 9" so ordered size medium at the same time I ordered my wool pants. The suspenders were too short. So I returned for size large. The size large felt comfortable. However the first time I bend over/squatted, instead of the streching, the suspenders pulled out the pants waist band in the back. Previous reviews pointed out the lack of elasticity and size issues, I wish I paid attention to them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bubba46240 heavy-duty suspenders
I had to order them twice just to get a proper size. I am only 5'8&1/2' but needed the extra long (on my second try) Plus the snaps are damaging my chair back in the kitchen & my wife won't let me wear them in the house. Other than that, they are bright red and both pairs post a festvve pose on my closet floor

Over the years I have used these suspenders for a variety of outdoor activities. For upland hunting, hiking or other outdoor activities I have honestly found no better product.
The only difficulty I have found is that the colors may fade with multiple washings. But, mechanically these suspenders have no equal.
