Rated 3 out of 5 by edXMe Good with reservations
I read the reviews for this item and went ahead and bought it but, with reservations. For some, there would be a problem with no elasticity in these suspenders so, during the day, I am constantly pulling them back onto one shoulder or the other. If only LLB could get the same quality but with elasticity.
It is certainly better than having the back clip(s) come loose and hitting you in back of the head.
Because of the quality of which I have had experience, I bought them anyhow from LLB because of their reliability and their return policy. But, until I find better, I am OK with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Swampstumbler Keeps my game bag up and me in the game
I have a belted game bag that I carry water bottles for my dogs and game that I shoot. Slogging through the woods and alder swamps for grouse requires a lot of twisting and turning. I attached the suspenders to the belt and now carry weight around my shoulders and don't have the game bag sagging down any longer. I also like the snap feature which will pop open when the suspender snags a limb. I simply re-snap and keep on treking which is far better than being tangled in the brush. I have used them on my britches too and they keep my legs from chaffing as well when I walk 10 or more miles a day in the woods looking for grouse. My britches stay up and I can concentrate on listening for flushes instead of stopping to adjust my pants.

I have been a Bean customer for fifty-one years. I keep coming back because your goods have quality. I have suspenders from you that are old enough to vote. However, in recent times the snap-on gadget that allows the suspender's length to be altered has failed after a short time. (current ones OK) I think high quality requires continued attention on the part of your quality control staff. it seems to me the firm has moved a bit in the direction of general advertising and multiple sales points and a bit away from letting your products tell their own story. I remember well the days when there was one store, (24/7), one flyer, and more outfitter's material. more to my liking

Rated 4 out of 5 by ProfSW Heavier and stiffer than expected
Well made but very stiff and bulky. No instructions on care, cleaning, etc, Metal clasps are very rugged, but the paint chips off easily, and I have no idea what the metal is or if it will rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MonroeDoctrine Men's Heavy Duty Suspenders
I am currently wearing suspenders I bought 3 years ago. They are tough, durable and stylish.
I had searched for a couple of years looking for this type of suspenders. Most I saw or ordered were flimsy and didn't last but a few months or didn't look good with casual jeans.
L L Bean suspenders fit the bill with quality and looks. So, I ordered two more pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ohfittje rugged suspenders
I got these suspenders to use with my work pants, LL Bean jeans, and they are as rugged and tough as I thought they would be. I'm tall so I got the tall suspenders and they are long enough to be comfortable. I can tell I will be using these high quality suspenders for a long time. Another quality product by LL Bean.

I ordered the metal tab xlong version..I'm 6-2. Agree with the other reviews, the elastic is very stiff and they run short. The biggest problem is the location of the "X" on the back, it hits me at the small of my back rather than just below or between the shoulder blades. So, the straps are constantly falling off my shoulders.

My 76 year old husband is thin and has lost height. Belts are no longer comfortable. I bought the medium suspenders as the old ones were stretched out. The old ones were purchased many years ago. Possibly when he was 6'2" and took a 42 long. These fit well and are well made. We also bought the green ones years ago as well. Husband has a 33" waist and takes a 32" length pant. These suspenders are comfortable.

I'm 5'6" and ordered the long to hold up my flannel lined winter jeans. They do the job and hold up better than the thinner suspenders that have stretched out.
