	Catch and Release Fishing Demo January - December	Join us every Saturday and Sunday at our indoor trout pond. A knowledgable member of our fishing staff will demonstrate catch and release fishing techniques.
	Staff Picks for Best Hikes in Maine June 1 2 p.m. - 2 p.m.	Our staff logs a lot of miles on Maine's hiking trails every year. Come visit our camping department today to see and discuss some of their favorite hikes. You might just find a few new places to take your next trek.
	National Trails Day Outing June 2	Sometimes the greatest natural treasures are found right in your backyard. Quarry Woods & Wetlands Preserve is one of those places. Just down Bow Street from our Flagship Store, this 35-acre park encompasses vernal pools, an old apple orchard and the site of the former E.B. Mallet granite quarry. We'll be enjoying the 1.5-miles of trails at a relaxed pace. Bring your binoculars to see the many birds nesting here. Meet at the back parking lot of the Mast Landing School off Bow St.

	PaddleSports Weekend June 7 - June 9	Enjoy fun events and activities at our paddling center on Casco Bay - just 10 minutes away from our Flagship Store. You'll find free boat demos, free skills clinics, live music, games, kids' crafts and more. Take our convenient shuttle and stay for an hour or the whole day. 	Nautical Rules of the Road June 11	Are you ever confused about who has the right of way when you're out paddling in a busy waterway? Join us to learn the nautical "rules of the road" and feel more confident navigating on the water.
	Geocaching for Beginners June 12	Geocaching is a family-friendly outdoor treasure hunt where you use a GPS receiver to help you locate your "treasure". Tonight we'll meet in the Discovery Lobby, where we'll first gain some knowledge about the game, then head outside to see how a GPS works and give everyone a chance to find their first "cache."
	Fly Casting June 13	Here's your chance to learn a sport that you may end up loving for a lifetime. Our friendly, knowledgeable instructors will teach you the four-part cast, share helpful tips and give you plenty of practice time.
	Family Hike Series: Geocaching June 15	We'll join with the Freeport Conservation Trust for a hike on the Brimstone Trail off Ringrose Rd. in Freeport. There is a short hilly loop at the beginning of the trail, followed by a leg out to Kelsey Brook, about 1.5-miles altogether, with options for a longer walk and perhaps even a stop at a local farm stand. Along the way we will search for geocaches that are hidden near the trail.
	Essential Knots for the Outdoors June 16 2 p.m. - 2 p.m.	How do you tie a kayak to the roof of a car? How do you quickly rig a rain tarp? How do you secure your boat to a dock? There are a few key knots every good outdoorsperson should know. Join the experts at the L.L.Bean Flagship Store to learn them.

	Great Places to Paddle June 20	This is a great opportunity to get some local knowledge about the best places to kayak and canoe in your area. There may also be presentations from special guests about trips to exotic locations.
	Family Game Night in Discovery Park June 21 8 p.m. - 8 p.m.	Join us for some family fun. It's a great evening to be outside and (hopefully) enjoy the sun on one of the longest days of summer. We'll have a selection of fun games available, including our famous Bean Boot Toss.
	Full-Moon Hike June 22	Join L.L.Bean and the Freeport Historical Society for a full-moon hike on the flat trails of Pettengill Farm, Pettengill Road in Freeport. This beautiful 140-acre site features four trails, gardens, fields and vistas looking down to the saltwater Harraseeket estuary. Bring bug spray and a headlamp or flashlight if you have one.
	Tent Demonstration in Discovery Park June 22 - June 23 2 p.m. - 2 p.m.	L.L.Bean has a great selection of tents to outfit every outdoor adventure. Today is the "Great American Backyard Campout," so we'll set up all of our family tents for backyard and car camping. Come explore and talk to our camping experts to find the right tent for you.
	Keeping the Bugs Away June 23 2 p.m. - 2 p.m.	Is it really possible to keep mosquitoes, blackflies, ticks and other insects from bugging you? We carry a variety of sprays, lotions, nets and clothing that will keep the odds in your favor and make your outdoor outing much more enjoyable.
	Birding Essentials June 25	Learn to use binoculars, read field guides, understand migrations and much more in our introduction to this fun and captivating outdoor activity.

	Special Guest Speaker: Jennifer Pharr Davis June 28	Jennifer Pharr Davis has hiked over 11,000 miles of Long Distance Trails. She has trekked on 6 continents and currently holds endurance records on the Appalachian Trail, Long Trail and Bibbulmun Track. Jennifer is also an author and business owner whose mission is "Making the wilderness accessible and enjoyable through written and spoken word, instruction and guiding." She is an inspirational speaker and everyone who enjoys the outdoors is guaranteed to enjoy her discussion.
	Sunglasses Demonstration June 29 2 p.m. - 2 p.m.	Visit the Camping Department Optics Area to try on a variety of glasses and get the information you need to protect your eyes from the sun.
	Water Filtration June 30 2 p.m. - 2 p.m.	Stop by our Flagship Store and the Camping Department staff will show you how quick, easy and effective new water filtration devices are. With one of these filters, you'll always have fresh, clean water for your next adventure.
