Sometimes the greatest natural treasures are found right in your backyard. Quarry Woods & Wetlands Preserve is one of those places. Just down Bow Street from our Flagship Store, this 35-acre park encompasses vernal pools, an old apple orchard and the site of the former E.B. Mallet granite quarry. Family Hike Series: Geocaching June 15 |
We'll join with the Freeport Conservation Trust for a hike on the Brimstone Trail off Ringrose Rd. in Freeport. There is a short hilly loop at the beginning of the trail, followed by a leg out to Kelsey Brook, about 1.5-miles altogether, with options for a longer walk and perhaps even a stop at a local farm stand. Along the way we will search for geocaches that are hidden near the trail. |

She is an inspirational speaker and everyone who enjoys the outdoors is guaranteed to enjoy her discussion. |
