Paddle among the islands of Maine's stunning Casco Bay where you will be surrounded by marine wildlife, working lobster boats and amazing scenery. Your trip will start at the L.L.Bean Paddling Center on Casco Bay, from which you'll paddle in a stable two-person kayak to a picturesque island for a picnic. We'll then paddle to the Island Base Camp, your home for the next two nights. Your appetite will be satisfied with an authentic Maine lobster bake or steak dinner. Then rest in a comfortable tent and sleeping bag. After breakfast, we'll launch the kayaks for a daylong expedition to area islands. You will paddle through islands edged by jutting ledges where we often see resting seals. After lunch on the water and more paddling, you'll return to base camp to enjoy the evening and another fabulous dinner. On the last day, breakfast will be served on the island before our return to the Paddling Center.
Itinerary
Meet your experienced guides at the L.L. Bean Paddling Center on Casco Bay, then gear up and paddle to a picturesque island for a picnic. We'll continue on and visit with working lobstermen and take a closer look at this fascinating, traditional occupation. We'll return to the Island Base Camp, your home for the next two nights. Your hearty appetite will be satisfied with an authentic Maine lobster and clambake or steak dinner. Then take your rest in your comfortable tents and sleeping bag.
After a hearty breakfast out in the salt air, we'll launch the kayaks for a daylong expedition to area islands. We'll make our way through a chain of islands edged by jutting ledges where we often see resting seals. Enjoy an interpretive tour and lunch before paddling back to Island Base Camp. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy another fabulous dinner.
On the last day, breakfast will be served on the island before departing for the return trip to the Paddling Center in Freeport.
