  • Prerequisite:  Introduction to Stand Up Paddle Boarding or basic skills and comfort on a stand-up paddleboard

Course Description

This fun, four-hour course is a great way to learn stand up paddle boarding footwork, strokes, spinning and a whole lot more. In a relaxed environment, our instructors will teach you advanced strokes and concepts like balancing, plus dealing with wind and rough water.

You'll also learn the footwork skills to keep you agile and balanced on your board, practicing techniques like bracing, pivot turns, draw strokes, cross-stepping, spinning, side slipping, power turning and edging. Our expert instructors will guide you step by step through each skill. You'll also have ample opportunities to work with them one-on-one, plus plenty of time to practice what you've learned.

All necessary paddle boarding equipment is provided.

L.L.Bean does not usually cancel events due to inclement weather. However, we reserve the right to cancel an event at any time due to severe weather, low enrollment or other concerns. If L.L.Bean cancels your event, you will receive a full refund for the cost of your reservation.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.

†Please call ahead if you plan to use your own equipment as it must pass inspection by L.L.Bean staff before use. If it's deemed unsuitable, we will provide you with the necessary equipment.
