Course Description

This wonderful day of cycling will take you to two historic lighthouses on the rocky coast of southern Maine. You'll visit and learn the history of the famous Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth and Spring Point Ledge Light in South Portland, a unique stone version of the "sparkplug" style lighthouse. A savory oceanside lunch, featuring a Maine lobster roll, is sure to provide you with the energy you need to tour this special area of New England.

You'll receive a short primer in safety practices and a comprehensive overview of the equipment you'll be using. Then you're off on a shuttle-supported, 23-mile scenic ride. The pace will be leisurely, with plenty of time to take in the views.

All necessary biking equipment is provided.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.

†Please call ahead if you plan to use your own equipment as it must pass inspection by L.L.Bean staff before use. If it's deemed unsuitable, we will provide you with the necessary equipment.
