Course Description

Discover a new horizon and explore the exciting world of sea kayaking in this fun, full-day course. Perfect for beginners, recreational paddlers and anyone else who wants to start enjoying this popular sport, our combination course teaches basic kayaking strokes and skills, plus safety techniques.

In small groups led by ACA Certified Instructors, you'll receive friendly, personal attention and plenty of one-on-one instruction. We'll explain kayak design, paddling terminology and boat fit. You'll learn and practice strokes, such as the reverse, sweep and draw, plus safety techniques including wet exits, T-rescue and re-entry with a paddle float. Then you'll take a short, guided tour using your new skills, enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

Our experienced guides are passionate about sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for this healthy, low-impact sport, making your day even more enjoyable and inspiring.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

*Synthetic clothing dries quickly and is the best choice for outdoor pursuits. Please do not wear cotton clothing. When wet, cotton rapidly robs the heat from your body and takes a long time to dry. We also recommend you dress in multiple layers, allowing you more flexibility to comfortably respond to the weather conditions and your level of exertion.

†Please call ahead if you plan to use your own equipment as it must pass inspection by L.L.Bean staff before use. If it's deemed unsuitable, we will provide you with the necessary equipment.
