How can I retrieve my login information?

If you forgot your password:
Click the "Forgot your password?" link below the password box, and follow the instructions. We'll verify your identity first, then you'll be able to choose a new password.

If you forgot your username:
Try using your email address as your Login ID. If that doesn't work, contact us at 800-441-5713 for assistance.

Where is my order?

To find your order status and tracking information, visit Order Tracking/History and enter your order number, last name and zip code. If you have an llbean.com account, you can log in to view your complete order history, including information about current orders.

How do I return or exchange an item I purchased?

You can return an item to any L.L.Bean retail store or outlet, or make your return by mail. No authorization from customer service is required when making a return or exchange. For easy instructions and prepaid shipping labels, visit Easy Returns and Exchanges.

What size should I buy?

You can get item-specific sizing information by clicking the "Size Chart" link located in the righthand column of most product pages. You can also find general L.L.Bean sizing information here.

How do I redeem Gift Cards, Promotions or L.L.Bean Visa Coupons?

How do I add a monogram? Can I choose the thread color?

Check the "Add Monogramming" box on the product page before clicking "Add to Bag." We'll ask for details on the next page.

Thread color is selected automatically based on the color of the item, and cannot be changed when ordering online. If you would prefer to choose your thread color, call 800-441-5713 to place your order by phone. Get more monogramming information.

How do I create an llbean.com account?

For access to time-saving features like Express Checkout and Order History, visit Create an Account.

How do I send items to a different recipient?

After you've added all your items to your Shopping Bag, click the Shopping Bag icon in the upper right corner of any page. There, you can select a recipient from your Address Book (if you are logged in) or add a new recipient. We'll ask you for shipping information during checkout.

How do I gift box my items?

If at least one item in your order can be gift boxed, a "Gift Boxing" link will display next to the item(s) during checkout, on the Shipping Information page. Click the Gift Boxing link to choose a box pattern and enter a personal message. Get more information about Gift Boxing.

How do I include a free gift message with my order?

You'll see a "Free Gift Message" link next to each recipient on the Shipping Information page as you check out. Click the link and enter your personal message. Please note that the gift message is presented separately from the cards included as part of our gift boxing service. Get more information about Gift Messages.

What will shipping and handling cost for my order?

The estimated shipping and handling charge for your order is displayed in your Shopping Bag. Charges are based on order total (see rate charts). There may be additional delivery charges for some larger items; those charges are listed on the product page and are also displayed in your Shopping Bag.

How do I expedite shipping on my order?

Express Delivery is available for most in-stock items. After you have entered your shipping information during checkout, you will be prompted to select a shipping method for each recipient. Shipping and handling charges and estimated delivery times will be listed for all available shipping methods.

Can I return an item without my original receipt?

We encourage you to include your receipt in order to help us process your return more quickly. However, we'll accept your return without the original receipt (except if it was purchased at an L.L.Bean Outlet®). If you are returning by mail, please visit Easy Returns and fill out a Return & Exchange Form to include with your item.

If you are returning to an L.L.Bean store or outlet, we recommend you bring your receipt so we will have the most accurate pricing information; otherwise we will refund the last price showing in our system.

Can I ship items to an L.L.Bean store and pick them up there?

Yes, this free delivery option is available for most in-stock items. In your Shopping Bag, click "Ship to Store" next to the item and choose a retail store location from the list. We are unable to ship items to L.L.Bean Outlets. Get more information about Ship to Store.

What is a QuickExchange™?

When you call for a QuickExchange, we'll place an order for your new item right away. We'll need to charge you the purchase price, but we'll waive the shipping and handling charge for the new item. Once we receive your return, we'll credit you for the cost of the original item. To request a QuickExchange, call Customer Service at 800-441-5713.

How can I get a copy of my order invoice?

Visit Order Tracking and enter your order number along with the purchaser's last name and zip code to get a detailed summary of the order.

I made an error on an order I've already placed. Can I fix it?

We're sorry, order information cannot be changed once you submit your order. We process orders very quickly, and once an order begins the fulfillment process we're unable to modify it. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we hope that in the majority of cases our faster processing times work to your advantage. If you have questions about your order, please contact us.

Why can't I use Order History or L.L.Bean Coupon Lookup even though I'm logged in?

These features are available only after you have completed an order using your new llbean.com account. This enables us to confirm your identity before sharing personal information. For your security, if you make changes to certain account information (such as billing address, user name or password), these features are automatically disabled until after you have completed your next order on our site.

I placed an order online. When will I receive an order confirmation?

If you provided your email address when placing your order, we'll send you an order confirmation by email, usually within a few hours. We also send a shipping notification email when your order ships (although there are a few exceptions in cases where your item ships from an off-site distribution center).

Why do I have to pay sales tax on my order?

We are required to collect sales tax on orders shipping to any state where L.L.Bean has a store or outlet.
