Beaners Honored for Time on Appalachian Trail
FREEPORT, Maine, June 1, 2006 - When you think of vacation, what comes to mind? Probably not clipping trees and brush, clearing blowdowns and draining water from a trail. But that's exactly what many Beaners do when they volunteer to work on the Appalachian Trail. Bean employees and family maintain an 18.5-mile segment of the trail, and have done so since 1980.
Three volunteers were recently honored for 15 years of Trail work – Pam Jones, L.L.Bean Product Developer, Pam's father Austin and L.L.Bean Learning Design Consultant Sue Butler.
