L.L.Bean partners with the Maine Agencies on Aging and TRIAD in "Coats for Seniors" Effort
Visitors to L.L.Bean's Freeport stores are encouraged to donate a gently used or new coat between November 20 and 22. L.L.Bean will donate $5 for each coat donated to the Keep ME Warm heating assistance fund in Maine.
L.L.Bean Unveils New Interactive Kids' Department
L.L.Bean recently opened its redesigned kids' department at the Flagship store in Freeport, Maine. Interactive features are geared towards play and learning in the outdoors and include a knot-tying station, lookout tower with suspension bridge, giant magnetic chalkboard walls, photo booth and more.
L.L.Bean's Lewiston, Maine Contact Center Named VPP Star Site
L.L.Bean's Contact Center in Lewiston, Maine, was approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's National Office for participation in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). Approval into VPP is OSHA's official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. The Star certification is the highest of three levels of VPP recognition. Several other L.L.Bean facilities are also part of VPP. It is L.L.Bean's goal to achieve company-wide VPP status by 2012.
