L.L.Bean Stowaway Dog Kennel Wins Outdoor Canada’s Prestigious Best New Hunting Gear Award
Outdoor Canada recently announced the winners of its annual Best New Hunting Gear Awards, and one of the winning products was L.L.Bean’s Stowaway Dog Kennel. This is the third consecutive year L.L.Bean has won this award.

L.L.Bean Elects New Chairman of the Board
L.L.Bean announced today the election of Shawn Gorman as its new Chairman. Mr. Gorman replaces Leon Gorman, who has served as Chairman of the family-controlled Board of Directors. In 2001, Leon assumed the Chairman's position following his retirement as President and CEO, a position he held for over 30 years. Leon Gorman has been named Chairman Emeritus and will remain a member of the Board.

L.L.Bean Makes $50,000 Gift to Lewiston Fire Relief Fund
Three catastrophic fires of the past week have left 180 residents of downtown Lewiston homeless. Today, L.L.Bean has made a $50,000 corporate challenge gift to help the Lewiston fire victims. "We recognize the terrible loss for these individuals and families, and we appreciate the round-the-clock efforts of the nonprofit organizations and public safety entities involved," said Janet Wyper, L.L.Bean's Manager of Community Relations. "In being responsive to these efforts, we also wanted to invite other Maine companies and members of our community to join us in making an inspirational gift to the Lewiston Fire Relief Fund."

L.L.Bean to Convert Fayetteville, New York, Outlet Store to Full Retail Store
L.L.Bean is pleased to announce the conversion of its outlet store in Fayetteville, NY, into a full L.L.Bean retail store. Conversion to a full retail store will double current staff, include a variety of the most up-to-date merchandise and feature outdoor adventures run directly out of the store. The conversion will be complete on Friday, June 7.

L.L.Bean Commits $150,000 to The One Fund Boston
L.L.Bean announced today a $150,000 commitment to The One Fund Boston, an organization established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to raise funds for families most profoundly impacted by the unthinkable tragedy that occurred during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.
